Fancy a Cupcake? - TECC73

Card220609 I received an email last week from Sam at Ryemilan's Stamping and Scrapbooking about the PTI anniversary set that was due out, and do you know I had completely forgotten about it!  I received mine early last week, but hadn't had time to even take it out of it's box, but I knew there was a cupcake in amongst the stamps.  I've used it today for the TECC challenge.

The base of the cupcake was stamped with Palette Burnt Umber, on Smooth White Cardstock.  The frosted top of the cupcake was stamped with Versamark, Hot Set Powder was sprinkled over the top and heat set before I applied the Blue Ice Glitter, and then heat set again.  I then cut the frosting out and placed it over the cupcake so I could gauge exactly where to stamp the cherry.  I used Spellbinders Classic squares to cut the main image and scalloped border, then used dimensional foam to attach the frosting.  The little bright pink dots on the frosting are micro beads that I ordered in just to see what they were like, and I used Glossy Accents to adhere them and to brighten the cherry!

The sentiment is from the PTI set as well, and I don't think you can ever have too many different ways to say 'Happy Birthday', that way you will always find exactly the right one.  It was stamped in Taken with Teal from SU!, and I added some tiny 3mm rhinestones to finish the border.  All DSP is also from SU!

I hope your weekend was fantastic - I know mine went quicker than ever !  Have a great day,

Tall Wishes - Mojo 91

Card190609 I had some spare time this afternoon to make a card for the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.

I started with some more new DSP, from Black Market Paper Society.  The sketch was a DL design which I don't do very often, but found the SU! set Stem Silhouettes suited perfectly.

I have stamped the image using Palette Burnt Umber and attached some micro buttons with Glossy Accents.  Over the main image I then stamped the Linen background - one of my favourites! - with So Saffron, and sponged the edges.

The little bow was made with 10mm double sided satin ribbon that I folded in half, and the larger is using the same ribbon and wrapped around the Bow Easy twice.

I'll be back again tomorrow - DH is out for the day - so I'll have time to play!

See you then,

Sparkly Cupcake!

Card060609 Our eldest is at a friends party tonight, and I asked him to select the paper and stamp to suit the young girl.  This paper is from the card I made just the other day, and it was the one that caught his eye, so we went with it!  I've used this weekends sketch from Taylored Expressions, and if you get a chance check out her new releases, they are fantastic!

This cute little elephant is from the SU! set Celebrate Everyday.  I've stamped her with Palette Burnt Umber and coloured using Copics -yes, once again.  The little cupcake is from a Papertrey Ink set and I added some glitter glue for the icing.

The background I ran through a Cuttlebug folder and gave it a light sand to highlight the core.  These cute button are from the Clear Shapes collection - Cotton Candy Flowers.

The cardstock is Kraft and is a standard C6 card, and I've used Bazzill Java for the contrast.

Enjoy your evening, and stay warm!

Retro Mojo

Card1270509 I love the flexibility of photopolymer stamps, or clear stamps as they're known.  With the main image I was able to curve the sentiment - from Papertrey Ink - to fit in with the centre circle!  The beautiful flower was stamped with Palette Burnt Umber and is from Jolies Fleurs from Lizzie Anne Designs, and I have coloured this with Copics.

The cardstock is SU!'s Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp and Pumpkin Pie, and I wish I could tell you where the DSP came from - I love it! (which is probably why I bought it)

I finished with some buttons from the Birthday mix.

Check out the other great Mojo Monday projects here for some incredible inspiration!

Happy stamping everyone,

Bind-It-All Fun

Book1190509 A friend emailed me just the other day wanting to know if I had heard much about the Bind-It-All machine...and I had to be honest and say that I had one - I just love gadgets!  This is great little machine if you like making things, which I do, and I had great intentions, but I have only used mine twice in over 12 months (this is the second time!).  So I thought what better time to throw something together very quickly to share.

I covered two front covers very quickly with DSP from SU!, used their set Time Well Spent for the flower, coloured it with Copics, and there it was.

It is a lot of fun and is apparently on sale at Spotlight!  I will take a bit more time with my next project and see if I can't come up with something else.

Have a great day!

Just Because - Mojo 86

Card130509 This stamp set from Stampin' Up! I think was from their first catalogue here in Australia.  Called 'Gentler Times' it has a lovely 'olden days' feel about it, although I perhaps shouldn't use those words, as my boys are increasingly saying to me "back in your time", and really, I say to them, it wasn't that long ago!  And so too it would be for others..

Today I have stamped the images using Palette Burnt Umber on to Vixen Cream Cardstock, and coloured using Copics.

The DSP is from CM, and is the set I used at Christmas for some cards.  It is very pretty and fitted in well with the stamps I thought.  The ribbon across the centre is double sided cream satin.

Centre130509 I used the Oval Spellbinders for the centre image, and a scallop blade for my cutter along the bottom edge.

Altogether it was a very quick card :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Make a Wish!

Cupcake090509 As chance would have it, I have two cards to show you today.  The first is using the Mojo Monday sketch...again.

I have used the stamp set Big Bold Birthday from SU! for this card.  The base of the cake was stamped using Pumpkin Pie and Versamark, coated with clear ep and heat embossed.  The top of the cake I stamped so that I would have the outline of the frosting to work with and then coated with Liquid Applique.  I let this dry overnight and then heat set it to give this 'fluffed up' effect...it looks and feels so cool!

The frame the cake is set on is a new one from Spellbinders called Polka Dot Frame, and I simply cut it twice to change the centre.

Centre090509 I layed it all on Smooth white cardstock to give it a firm base and distressed the edges using a Paper Distresser.

I didn't have any plain Ric Rac so I simply used the wrong side to theflowered version I have and adhered it with 3mm double sided tape.

Now on to the second 'quickie' card I had to do this afternoon.  A friends son who is partnering a girl tonight in her deb, hadn't thought of the card to go with the gift....so here it is.

Dress090509 The cardstock is Vixen Bright White, although it does look creamer here than what it is.  It has a beautiful texture that is also difficult to see in the photo.  The dress from the set Blooming with Happiness was embossed with Silver ep and heat set, and then little amethyst rhinestones were added, and they give a lovely sparkle.

The young girls name was printed on plain Vellum, and this was attached with rhinestone brads.

All done in less than half an hour!

Have a great Saturday...what's left of it, and a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow to all of you.

Mother's Day - Mojo 85

Card080509 Some of you that have known me for a little while will know that I lost my Mum a couple of years ago, but I still love to create Mother's Day cards.  She loved hand made cards and presents having been a knitter and dress maker all her life..she didn't stop until the last 2 years, and I hope I keep going as long as well!  What a gift that would be.

This card was made using the Mojo Monday Sketch, and as soon as I saw it I knew I loved it, and have started another card using the same sketch!

I started by finding the stamps I wanted to use, then the papers, and finally the Spellbinders!  You can just make out in the background I have a new one from the Pierceabilities range and it's the 5 1/2" Pinking Border.  It cuts, embosses, stencils and has a piercing guide!  How clever!Centre080509

The images were stamped using Always Artichoke from SU!, and the flower was coloured using Copic markers.  I've cut out  an extra flower and both the leaves to give dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you can join in with this sketch challenge - there are prizes to be won!

Birthday Love - Mojo 84

Card290409 This card for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch was a tough one for me, and when I finally finished it and went back to the sketch I realised it was wrong - in part - the pearls should have been to the left of the flowers! LOL

I have used Sweet Pea Flower Soft, and I love the colours in this mix.  The image from Petal Prints was stamped using SU! Always Artichoke and then the Flower Soft was added.  The tiny ribbon is from the Pretty Pots Starter Kit.

I used a Scrap Kit from SU! for my DSP, as well as the stickers that co-ordinated with it.  I found using stickers hard as it's something I'm not use to using, but I'm sure they would make for a quick project.

Centre290409 It's funny how two photos taken at exactly the same time can turn out so differently.  This side view gives a more acurate depiction of the colour of both the card and the Flower Soft.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Over the weekend I started two cards and didn't finish either until this morning.  Both of them were made using the TECC sketch challenge, and both are very different.

The first uses a stamp set from Stampin' Up! - Sassy Stems and was very quick.  I really have no reason for not finishing it yesterday.

The image was stamped using Palette Noir Black on Smooth White and coloured with Copics.  Matted on to SU! Sage and then on to some pretty DSP from my stash.  The ribbon is from Papertrey Ink, and matched the paper beautifully!

Sunflower270409 This card uses a Penny Black stamp I have had for many years.  The image was stamped using Palette Burnt Umber on to watercolour paper and then coloured using the same method I used in this tutorial.

I adhered it to BBP Java, which is a really  dark chocolate brown, and then cut freehand around the image.  The DSP here is from a SU! pack.  The sentiment was stamped on to cream cotton twill using Burnt umber once again and affixed with double sided tape.  I stamped the image twice and coloured a couple of extra flowers so that I could 'pop' them with dimensional foam.  The very top flower is popped - a little hard to tell in the photo - and of course the one sitting over the ribbon.  Because the image is so detailed it looked a little lop sided so I added some brown metallic brads and pierced the paper down the right side and across the top to finish.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and for those that desperately need rain that some fell your way - we had 25mm!

Enjoy your day in whatever you are doing.

Lemon Check

Card230409 Here is my other new Spellbinders die.  This frame is called Foliage Frame, and is a set of four dies.  It just looked so beautiful on Becca's blog that I just had to have it!

The frame was cut out using Bazzill cardstock, embossed and lightly stenciled with lemon chalk to highlight the raised areas.

For the centre I used vellum.  The words and flowers were stamped with Versamark and coated using AED white ep and heat set.  I then flipped the vellum over and coloured the image with Copic markers.

These beautiful words are from Stampin' Up!, and the flowers from OCL's Spring Garden.  I threaded some double sided satin ribbon through and tied off the ends to finish.

Our Craft Lounge has a new release happening very soon, as well as Lizzie Anne Designs, and they both have some beautiful new stamps sets coming out, so stay tuned for those!

Tomorrow is Freebie Friday once again - can you believe it!  So don't forget to pop back and leave a comment over the weekend for your chance at this months candy.

Mother's Day - SK041809

Card200409 It has been great having some time just to sit and play at my desk!  This is what I came up with for the sketch challenge this week over at Paper Craft Planet, so be sure to join in as well and send me a link to your creation!

Everything used here is from SU! except for the tiny rhinestones, ink, and I used Spellbinders Labels 2 for the sentiment, and of course the double sided tape

The images from Stem Silhouettes - one of my favourites - were stamped using Palette Burnt Umber, and a Copic marker was ran around the edge of the paper...You can see this a little clearer around the sentiment.

From the DSP I cut out the butterflys and added the rhinestones after I had attached them using 3mm double sided tape.

And I have some exciting news for you today as well.....Flower Soft will soon be available!  The Australian distributors should have it in their hot little hands this week, and I will be placing my order then, so it should be in store by the end of next week!  I have been wanting to try this for ages and can't wait to give it a go.

Until tomorrow, happy stamping,

Ginger Blossom...TECC64

Card180409 I can't believe how early I am today, and I have even managed to wash and cook for the return to school next week!  It must be this beautiful Autumn weather we are having - I'm just trying to not think of the rain we need.

I love this paper from SU!...as I love most of their DSP....so this card came together very quickly once I decided to use it.

The image is from the SU! set Artfully Asian and was stamped using Palette Noir Black and coloured with Copics.  I stamped an extra one and cut out a couple of the blossoms and popped them for a bit of extra interest.  I pierced around the edge of the Smooth white cardstock after I had added the tiny 3mm rhinestones - aren't they cute?!  This was then matted on to Groovy Guava that I distressed, and raised using dimensional foam on to Felt black cardstock.

The second image is from the SU! set Wishing you the Best, cut with a punch and matted on to Felt black cut using my Petite Circle Spellbinders.

I have a card to finish for my Goddaughter, and I may even get back to post today I am feeling so energised...LOL...I hope you are all enjoying the weekend!

Happy stamping,

Andreapostsiggy

For You...Mojo 81

2card080409

Here's the card with the little touch added....what do you think....yes or no??

Card080409  This was a tough one for me, and I'm still not entirely sure that I'm happy with it!  I tend to have everything at right angles and nice and straight, so when I saw this weeks Mojo Monday sketch I was indeed a little worried.

I have just added some piercing to each of the blank corners, so I will need to take a photo of that just so you can see the difference that little touch makes!  I new I wasn't happy with it..LOL

The stamps I have used here are Lizzie Anne Designs Jolies Fleurs, and SU! Taggers Dozen.  The images were stamped using Palette Burnt Umber and coloured with Copics.  Of course Spellbinders played a very big part in this card, and made all the cutting out very easy.

The cardstock is Smooth White, and everything else is from my SU! stash!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the follow up photo if you don't see two here yet.

Happy stamping till then,

Andreapostsiggy

Butterfly Nature - Mojo 79

Card280309   This is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday.  Now I was basically finished this card the other day, but have been a little lost as to how to edit it etc on another computer.  Well I have done my best, but the card is a different coluor IRL - more coral than red.

The stamped images are from the SU! set Touch of Nature, one that I just love.  I used Palette Burnt Umber on smooth white cardstock and coloured the images with my Copics.  I cut them all out and ran the Copic marker around the edge to cover any remaining white cardstock showing through, before I applied Glossy Accents which really makes the colour come to life.

The DSP for this card is Inque Boutiques Cabana, the colours in this pack are just so pretty.

The bottom scalloped edge was done with my Carl cutter and I added little dots of Gold Pearl Liquid Pearls.

Centre280209 The stemmed leaves I added as an after thought this morning, it just looked as though it was missing something!  They look a little grey here but they are in fact a Copic that matches SU! River Rock and a touch of green.  I didn't want a green that would take over.

The little sentiment is one from Papertrey Ink, and I initially stamped it in Cameo Coral and when that didn't look right I went over it using the Burnt Umber.  Just love clear stamps!

The ribbon is a 10mm grosgrain called Cafe Latte.

Butterfly280309 Lastly is the butterfly, and using some fine wire I curled the ends and attached it underneath.  I have some foam tape under the wings to keep them raised and 3mm wide X-Press it tape down the centre.  A few Dew Drops in the corner and it was done!

Don't forget to add a comment on the post below for your chance to win some adhesive and choose some ribbon.
