Valentine Heart - ABSC013

Hi again, and welcome to this weeks AnnaBelle's Bling Sketch Challenge!  I decided to go all out with the bling for this card - as you can probably see!

I must admit that we don't really celebrate Valentines in our house, but I loved  making this very swirly card!  The new Flourishes set is the perfect thing if you love swirly bling like this! 

The Sprinkles I used today are 3mm Chilli along with a 10mm Chilli Heart.  Now you might think there is a huge difference in the colour in the shop photo and this one, but it's simply my photography skills, because the red is much more red IRL than it appears here.  The sentiment is from the Elephant Valentines set and the hearts were cut using Spellbinders.

Love Blooms - ABSC012

I wish I had taken this photo a little earlier in the day, because I know it would've turned out better than it has, but I hope you can imagine what it looks like IRL.  This is my card for this weeks ABSC012.  Check out the blog to see details on how you can win this week!

Using the Floral Stems set  I stamped one of the stems on to SU! DSP and cut it out using Classic Oval Spellbinders.  To this I added the new 6mm and 10mm Heart Sprinkles  in Blossom - aren't they adorable?

Along the bottom of the main piece of white cardstock I've stamped a zig-zag design from the Build-a-bling set and attached 3mm Blossom Sprinkles.

 

I decided to make my card for this week as an easel card - because I just love them!  I have a tutorial you can check out here.

Where has the week gone?  I know it's gone way too quickly for me!  I hope all my fellow Australians had a wonderful Australia Day.  It's good to take some time out to be thankful for the wonderful country we live in. 

I took some time out today to make this card for the PCP sketch challenge, and used the Flowers With Love set and Flourishes set from the new collection.   The Sprinkles are 3mm and 6mm Peach, and I adhered them using Glossy Accents.

The range of colours in the Sprinkles is growing which gives you a great variety to co-ordinate with almost any project.  If you haven't tried them yet, but would like to, join in this weeks AnnaBelle Bling Sketch Challenge or my Simply Saturday sketch for prizes up for grabs!  Check back tomorrow and Saturday for full details :)

Just a little different...for me!

Hi everyone!  Are many of you, like me, getting ready those last few things for the return to school?  New hats, school books, pens, markers, all the fun things....I've always loved stationery!

With todays card for this weeks AnnaBelle Bling Sketch, when I showed DH, I got the response "It's different".  Now was this good or bad I asked, and got the same response, so I'm not sure what to think, so you might have to tell me :)

Using some watercolour paper and my Twinkling H2O's I painted on some random shapes and waited for them to dry before I stamped the image, which is from the Floral Stems set.  I'm not sure if it was the H2O's or that the ink wasn't dark enough, but I ended up going over the image with a fine marker so that it stood out a little more.  I think what I should have done is embossed it, so maybe next time....that's if I do something like this again.

I added very little bling this week, only a 3mm Lagoon Sprinkle all on it's ownsome. 

I had ribbon pieces that were similar to the colours I had painted (make a note to check next time), but not quite a match, so I took the Twinkling H2O's and painted them, and voila a perfect match...well nearly.

  HI all!  Thank you to everyones good wishes for yesterday, we had a lovely day, albeit very busy!

I think I will make 'Simply Saturday' a weekly item, as I'm loving the quick cards at the minute.  Thanks to the wonderful ladies who played along with me last week.  I have two to show you today this first one being an attempt at a technique Michelle used in her card yesterday.  Now what I've done is nothing like hers, and I have to say that I have tried this technique before with no success.  Once I start 'dotting' I tend to go in striaght lines, and I find randomness very hard!  Check out Michelle's card to see what it should look like!

My first card uses the set Flowers with Love and Cherry Mini Sprinkles.

The second card uses Floral Stems and Toffee 3mm and 4mm Sprinkles.  I stamped the flower image on to the main piece of card using Versamark.

Sorry I have to cut this very short today, but I have people coming for tea any minute and I wanted the post to at least go out on Saturday for 'Simply Saturday' :)

Just Because - Sneak Peek #2

Hi, and thanks for coming back today to see another sneak peek!  This flower and Stem comes from a set called Floral Stems that has 4 seperate stems and flower heads, as well as 5 flowers and stems - a total of 13 stamps!  But more on that tomorrow :)

For todays card I've used the sketch from Paper Craft Planet, and kept it very simple.

The main images were stamped directly on to DSP using Palette Burnt Umber and coloured with Copics, and  I added a 3mm Cocoa drop to the centre.

Really this card didn't take very long to do at all!

The background is Smooth White cardstock that has been embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and matted on to Kraft cardstock...I seem to be going through a kraft phase at the moment.  Do you find you do that?

I added a sentiment from one of the other new sets and finished it with a button. 

I can't wait to show you the new sets and hear/read what you think.  See you tomorrow for another new AnnaBelle Sketch and pictures of all the new stamps.

Let's Celebrate - Mojo 121

Hi on this much cooler day here!  I even have a little jacket on, which is hard to believe when the last few days have been in the forties (celcius that is).

I went back to Helens Party for my Mojo Monday card.  I stamped her with Palette Burnt Umber on Smooth White and coloured her using my Copics.  I added the flowers and balloon from the same set.

 I so wanted to use the background paper, so I based all my colurs on that, but when I put it together I thought that maybe it was all just a little too much?  Do you think?  Anyway it was done and the reverse side of the DSP was plain and that didn't look right either :)

I added some bling down the side using 3mm Blueberry, but I don't want to give too much away about the bling before Friday, 'cause that would be telling!

Flowers Bright

Hello today, how are those of you in Australia surviving the heat?  It's been just a little warm :)

Today I was happily doing some samples using the new stamp sets - only four more days! - when I realised I needed to post the winner today, so I quickly made this single layer card - nice and simple so I had something to show as well.

The flowers are from the set Mums Flowers , and I stamped each flower from the set with Palette Burnt Umber.  AnnaBelle Stamps now stocks Twinkling H2O's and I am just getting acquainted with this colouring medium.  I selected for my first set a lovely bright combination, and these came out a treat on the Kraft cardstock.  For those of you unfamiliar with them, the watercolour paints come in little jars and you add a squirt of water to them to soften the paint before you begin, and then apply, it couldn't be easier.  They have a beautiful shimmer which I've tried to capture in this close up...very pretty.

The Sprinkles are new 4mm Lime and will be released this Friday - I think I've already said that, just a few times :)

So on to the winner of one of the new sets.  Three ladies got it right - Kathy S, Carol S and Angie - with myself, Ida and Teresa using one of the new sets.  Using random.org

Birthday Wishes - ABSC009 and Candy!

Hi everyone, and happy Friday!  We have a special weekend coming up so I am looking forward to it.  This weekend Chris' sister is flying back to Victoria from Broome in WA for their parents birthdays - yes they're on the same day!  Their Dad is turning 80  so it's a special one, but every birthday is special.

Todays card uses the AnnaBelle Bling Sketch.  I've used stamps from the upcoming release on the 15th - only one more week! - and some of the new bling!  The stems are from a set called Floral Stems and there are lots of different stems and flowers in this set - did the name give that away? - but I've just used the stems here. 

To make the flower heads I've used 6mm Turquoise Sprinkles in the centre and placed new White Pearl Drops around each.  These will come in two different sizes which you can see in the little butterfly I made.

 I highlighted some of the dots on the stems with a white gel pen.

During the week my counter told me I had passed 100,000 hits can you believe it?!?  It's truly amazing and I thank all of you for your support and friendship, and for dropping by and leaving a comment when you can, it means the world :)  So a little celebration must be in order.

Baby Blue

Did I say I was back in to routine?  Maybe not just yet :) although I am trying..  We've now organised all the school books for when the boys go back at the end of the month, and the decorations are being packed up this afternoon - it will be sad to see them gone.

My niece had a baby just before Christmas and I'm going around to visit soon, so I thought I had better get on to the card! 

Using the sketch from Mojo Monday this week, I put my card together with the help of two AnnaBelle sets - Wise Men and Swirl Tree. 

The main image was stamped with Palette Burnt Umber and coloured with Copics on a textured white cardstock - I sound a bit like a broken record. 

The DSP is an old one from SU!, but is a perfect blue for a new born little boy.  I used the Cuttlebug dot embossing folder for the plain piece of white and added NEW (15th January) 3mm Cornflower Sprinkles with Glossy Accents.

I'm off to do my decorations, but I might just have a coffee before I start :)  Have a great day,

Back to Normal?

Hi friends!  I'm thinking/feeling that with today comes a little more normality.  With visitors now home and Chris back at work, this morning feels as though I can get back in to my routine - if the boys let me!  I have a simple routine of house, then office, then playtime, and it seems like ages since it's happened this way LOL.

Todays card might be a little late for the Mojo Monday sketch from last week, but here it is anyway :)

I've used the set Mums Flowers and stamped one of the flower images twice on to smooth white cardstock, coloured them with Copics and cut them out. 

The sentiment is from the Swirl Tree set and I used the Spellbinders Petite Circles, and Classic Rectangles to cut all the shapes. 

I didn't have a matching ribbon for this DSP so I ended up by using the cut inverted scallop edge from the rectangle, and added some 4mm Peach Sprinkles below (due 15th Jan).  Now you may not be able to tell from the picture, but I just have to tell you 'cause I couldn't believe what a fluke this was, the lines on the the DSP from the small circle - to the large circle -across the 'ribbon' - to the rectangle all line up!  Amazing!  Now we all know that if that had have been my intent it would never have happened, or I would have taken hours trying to make it work.  What a laugh!

So I hope your New Year has started well, and if you're a routine person like me that you're back in to it!

A Birthday Wish - ABSC008

Hi everyone, and Happy New Year!!  I hope all who celebrated Christmas had a joyful and peaceful one, blessed with family and friends.  The new year is now here, and I can't wait to share what's coming to AnnaBelle Stamps, and there are a couple of little hints on my card for today!

This is the sketch from theAnnaBelle Stamps Blog for this week, and we would love for you to join us :)

I've taken one of my favourite sets 'Mums Flowers' and stamped the flowers in Palette Burnt Umber on smooth White cardstock.  The words are from the 'Swirl Tree' set and have also been stamped with Burnt Umber and cut out with Spellbinders Classic Squares.  I added a little flower as well and a new 3mm Blossom Sprinkle.

The centre of my middle flower uses a Blossom heart as decoration.  These will be available along with five new stamp sets 15th January!  I used Copics to colour the images, and these are some of my new ones I received for Christmas - I chose the colours of course :) and they match this beautiful DSP from Upsy Daisy Designs perfectly.

I added AED White Fizz glitter using a strip of 12mm double sided tape - very quick and easy - then adhered some 6mm Blossom Sprinkles with Glossy Accents.

Joy to our World - ABSC007

Hi everyone!  The count down is really on now, and it's all just so exciting!  This weeks sketch from AnnaBelle Stamps will run for two weeks and is the prize sketch for the month, so be sure to join in the fun. 

I changed where I placed my bling just a little to tie in with the sentiment a bit better.  The image from the Holly Branch set was stamped with Palette Moulin Rouge on Smooth Cream cardstock, and cut with my Spellbinders Classic Square dies.  The gorgeous cardstock underneath is metallic and looks incredible IRL.  I pierced the scallop border and raised it using dimensional foam. 

The Sprinkles are Chilli and Artichoke 4mm from the Mini range.

This favourite DSP of mine is of course from SU! and the ribbon was from a gift I received last year - it's always great to re-use/re-cycle!

Just a little late!

I started the card early enough for last weeks Mojo Monday sketch, but I certainly didn't finish it in time!

I used an idea from Kylie - thanks Kylie! - but because I wanted a larger bauble, I stamped the bottom half of the tree from 'Jeweled Tree' with Versamark, sprinkled over some silver ep, then turned my image and stamped the tree again so that the bottoms were lined up.  Heat set the ep and coloured with Copics to match this great DSP from Alison Ellis Design, it's so glittery and shiny!

I added 6mm Blossom Sprinkles to the bauble and matted it on to SU! Pink Passion.

Really it was a very quick card, but when your husband has been away for 6 days with work you can't spend too much time in your office...can you?  He's back at work today, so I think I need to sneak a bit more time playing :)

DSP, Bow Easy and ribbon from The Little Online Card Shop

Merry Christmas - ABSC006

Hi everyone! It's time for another AnnaBelle Bling Sketch Challenge.  Today I've used the tree stamp from the Jeweled Tree set and stamped directly on to DSP with Palette Burnt Umber.  I hadn't used my Emerald Mini Sprinkles at all, and they seemed to work with this paper from Black Market Paper Society.  Do you like the new Sprinkles on there as well?  I couldn't resist using them :) they are a metallic pearl in a cocoa colour, and they are gorgeous!  These will be released along with lots more new Sprinkles in January, and I can't wait to share them with you...obviously!

I sponged lightly around the edge and added some piercing to the top corners.  The sentiment is from the same set, and I thought it made a great base for the tree.

This weeks sketch called for bling added to the bottom of the sentiment, so it was easy to add more of the same used to decorate my tree.
