Lollipop Ladies Challenge #13

Hi friends and welcome to another Lollipop Ladies Challenge!  We have a great challenge mix this week with the photo inspiration of Mint Fudge and the extra theme of polka dots!

If you can use both elements that would be fantastic!  I forgot again to look up what the bonus was....I have said before that I can't concentrate on two things at once very well lol! but this time it was three things because I used the Get Sketchy sketch for this week :)

Sunday Escape!

Hi all!!  Im sneaking in a very quick post today while Chris is out on his motorbike :)  I don't usually post Sundays but sometimes I can sneak a card in!

I've used the sketch from Card Patterns Sketch #98, although I think I'm a little late to add it LOL!

I've used our Lil Molly stamp today because it seems like ages since I coloured....something I love to do!  To create my two background panels I cut them to size using Smooth White then sponged with ink and lightly stamped over the top with the polka dots from the BBD1 stamps so that it didn't quite stamp everywhere.  Tied around some new twine - coming soon - and quickly took my photos!  The flash does seem to take some of the colour out because the sentiment has been sponged with blue behind it and you can only just make it out.

Lollipop Ladies Challenge #12

It's that time again for another challenge at the Lollipop Ladies!  Where on earth did the last two weeks go!

This weeks theme photo is licorice allsorts!  Yum!

The added theme this week is to use black, which I had intended to do when I first looked up the challenge, then when I sat down to create my card I totally forgot!  Now I'll tell you why!  I was concentrating on two things at once - the sketch from Get Sketchy and the allsorts theme, which just goes to show I can't do too many things at once!  It's really not a sign of age...well I can only hope!

 

No, no black there except in the ink, and really that doesn't count....does it?  The main images are from the Take the Cake set and the pattern was made using the BBD1 set.  I've added 6mm Lime Sprinkles to the top where the sentiment should have been!  Couldn't even follow the sketch properly lol!

Well I'm giving up for today and going to the pictures with Nathan to see Tangled in 3D.  I've been promising him for weeks that we would go and everything that we were going to see has finished, so I thought I'd better get in....they'll be back at school before we know it!

Preview 2 - Backgrounds By Design 1

Welcome to our second preview for this month!  This set is another in our Backgrounds by Design series, and there are so many different combinations!

I'm going to show you my 'bright' card first up lol!

Onto White cardstock I've stamped the 'squiggle' image with Versamark and embossed with Clear Hi Gloss EP.  I've then brayered the pink and orange over the top.  When you've done this you may need to wipe the embossed images with a tissue just to clean up any excess ink.  Then taking the small flower and yummy Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate ink I've stamped in to the design to create a unique background design.  This technique gives you a huge number of possible combinations using this set :)

With our Lil Bee image I went with watercolouring him, so he has been stamped with Versamark and embossed with our Bark EP.

This card uses the smaller pattern stamp and I've simply repeated it over the cream cardstock with Brilliance Rocket Red.  The main image is from the first preview and has been embossed with Opaque Vanilla.

Flying in with Presents

I had fun with this card, but do you ever over think things and the more you do the more you have to fix?  I kept fiddling with this one, and I ended up with more shading than I wanted, and more Sprinkles on the tree!  Random decoration would have been much better!

 I've used the SSSC87 for this card for my layout and some more of my new DP :)  All the images are from the Santa's Star set, and I've coloured with my Copics.  The Sprinkles on the tree are 3mm Chilli and the Holly has 4mm Chilli.

Simply Saturday - SS021010

Hi all on this beautiful Saturday afternoon!  I had a card nearly completed last night when I noticed that I had cut my finger and had put blood on the card!  Now as I'm doing a one layer card for today it was pretty obvious lol! so I'm saving that one to make in to another card that isn't a one layer.

 

What I was hoping to achieve today is to give the card dimension without the layers, so I've started with embossing the card front with a Spellbinders die.  I then stamped the image with Brilliance ink and allowed it to dry completely before colouring.

I've used the same Warm Copic Greys to give some shading as well as the BG group, and chalked the outer edges.  I was hoping this would give dimension....so does it??  Let me know what you think :)

The stamps are from the Hold a Candle Set.

Say It In...

...Blue and Brown!  Welcome to another Friday challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps blog :)  I love the colours chosen for todays challenge, they always seem to work well together!

 I went for a very simple card today, so I reached for one of our silhouette stamp sets - Floral Silhouettes - and did a quick colour over the stamp with water based markers from SU!  The image has been stamped on XPress-It Blending cardstock and I've used a Copic to colour the dirt.

I didn't have a button to really co-ordinate with the Bazzill card I had chosen so once again I've air-brushed some Copic colour on to match.  The background to the flowers has also been air-brushed.

The ribbon is DF 16mm Satin Brown, and the Sprinkles are Metallic Cocoa in 3mm.

Birthday Candles!

Good morning!  I have a card I meant to post yesterday, but was playing 'taxi' for Justin lol!, so I just didn't get it up, and photos work much better first thing in the morning with the sun now coming in our side window :)

 

I received a parcel yesterday...some new DP, so I just had to use some!  The other side is so cute, so that's going on another card today.

I've stamped the candles from the Hold A Candle set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to XPress-It Blending Card and coloured with my Copics.  I'm loving the warm greys for shading...they are definitely colours I would recommend!

 
For the other two images I grabbed the 'birthday circle' from the Party Animals 2 set and the present from Take the Cake sets.

Christmas Greetings

Good morning everyone!  This is a treat having time to stamp first thing in the morning rather than rushing the boys off to school!  Yes we are now in the middle of school holidays with one more week to go...yay!!

I started a card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge a couple of days ago, but the boys have kept me busy, so this morning when Chris left for work at 7.10am I actually got up and came straight to my office :)  What fun, what peace, with no thought of housework....just yet lol!

 Did everyone get a chance to visit our Guest Designer for September over the release days??  Iwona does some amazing work and she uses her watercolour pencils so much I decided to pull mine out........Well that didn't goes as well as I'd hoped lol, but it was fun having a play with them!  My image is from our new set Hooo Loves Christmas?, and because my Staz On ink pad hasn't been used in a very long time I went with Versamark and our Bark EP so I could watercolour without the ink running.

 Here's a little close-up of our new Holly leaves and Sprinkles in Olive and Cherry.  There have also been some new products from Scraperfect added to the shop, and the one that I'm really excited about is the Embellie Gellie!  The minute I saw this product I knew it would be perfect for our Sprinkles and Gems...it makes picking them up a breeze :)  I'll be putting together a video very shortly just so you can see how great this product is!

Preview 2 - Hooo Loves Christmas?

On to day two of Septembers new releases!  This is another very cute set from Helen Pickup, and I have three cards to show you today :)

 I love Christmas Trees!  I love putting ours up and decorating it - which is why it goes up on the 1st of December in our house lol!  I play the same CD that I've played for about 13-14 years (Wiggles Christmas) - I know, even the boys are too old for that now! - but there you have it, when it comes to Christmas, I'm just a big kid at heart :)

 I cheated a little with this one by using a sentiment from another set of ours called Holly Branch.  I've used Brilliance ink to stamp the snowflakes from Santa's Star and the the sentiment....it's a lot more vibrant IRL, so I might try turning the flash off to see how that goes next time :)  The ribbon is one of our new Christmas releases as well!

 Aren't thee owls the cutest??  This set is great for Christmas but just swapping a few elements around and it's going to be favourite for birthdays and even Valentines!

 Another very simple card using the trees and adding some faux stitching :)

I had a bit of time today to play along with the Card Patterns sketch for this week, and although I'm not overly happy with my card, I love the colours :)

 If I had've had just a bit more time I would've possibly stitched around the outer edge, but the laundry has been calling me all day as I try to catch up...and it's not as though I was behind, I just think my boys clear their wardrobes after a weekend...just in case it's dirty!

 I started with the image from the Branch Out set and stamped on to XPress-It blending cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa, then used several Copic colours to get to something close to the funny mustard colour - it does look a better match IRL :)

Once again I've used the Copic Air Brush to fill in my background, using a turquoise and brown for a speckled effect and YG91 on the smaller disc.

Say It With...

...Sprinkles!  I've already raved on about our Sprinkles over at the AnnaBelle blog, so I won't do it here as well LOL!  But I will say that I love them!  And I love that my blog is now finished!  Do you like the menu bar that Michelle created for me and Heather installed?  I do :)  Any one that can understand computer 'speak' is incredible in my book!

When I thought about todays card, and the fact that I promised myself I would not let Christmas cards take over my December, I went with one of my favourite sets from last year - Holly Branch.

 I thought I would also join in with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, but this sketch just didn't like me...I had so much trouble with it that in the end I just had to put my card together and post it lol!  To top that off I felt I had all the time in the world this morning to get it done..."Never put off till tomorrow what can be done today"...Who said that??  But there it was, at 11.30am with 30 minutes to finish the post a call from the school to come and collect Nathan...I hope I have learnt my lesson :)

 I then simply added gorgeous 3mm Cherry Sprinkles to my stamped Flourishes image.

Say It In...

...Yellow and Grey!  This weeks colour challenge from AnnaBelle Stamps.  We are also celebrating 1 year since we opened our AnnaBelle Stamps store so if you'd like to join in our blog hop for your chance to win you'll need to start at the AnnaBelle blog and follow the link to your next blog.  Simply leave a comment as you go :)

 Here is my card for this challenge, and I have to admit, grey and yellow - as much as I love the combo - are not colours I use together very often, but I think it turned out o.k.?

I found in my stash two shades of grey Bazzill which was very lucky, with the lighter grey matching perfectly my new Warm Grey Copics :) so I was able to colour match the ribbon!

My images are from the Sentimental Bluebell set and I stamped the main image with Memento London Fog and coloured with Copics YG91, Y17, Y21 and W00.

I added 3mm White Pearls to the circle image from the same set and it's been stamped in SU! So Saffron.

 I finished with some piercing, which I love to do :)

With Sympathy

 I hadn't made a sympathy card using this new set - Thoughtful Stems, so I put one together today.  I used Bazzill Linen card for the base, rounded the corners and added the wheat image across the bottom with Versamark and Clear AnnaBelle EP.

For the main Image I cut a rectangle using my Spellbinders and keeping it in place Air Brushed some colour on, then stamped the wheat and sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa.

 Three 3mm White Pearls down the side and some rustic string wrapped around and my card was finished.

Simply Saturday - SS070810

Simply Rounded

On to another Simply Saturday, and usually I like one layer cards today because I don't do them often and it's fun trying to stick to the single layer, but today I started with one and then it grew...but it's still  a CAS card :)

 My image is from the new set Take the Cake, and although I had stamped it I hadn't got around to using it, so thought today was the perfect opportunity!  Stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on to XPress-It Blending cardstock I then coloured one with Copics and cut it out.  With the theme 'Clean And Simple' in mind I decided to simply Air Brush the background because the cake was super quick to cut out, and started with R22 then added R24 through the centre.  The Pearls are large 8mm white ones that I air brushed with R59.  At the moment we don't stock the Sprinkles in the 8mm, but sometimes bigger is good :)

The words - from the same set - were stamped with Versamark and coated with our Opaque White EP then heat set on to Bazzill cardstock.

 So the theme today?  Anything to do with round!  Rounded corners, round cards, round centres, just remember to keep it simple....it's Saturday after all :)
