Lollipop Ladies Challenge #21

Welcome to this fortnights Lollipop Ladies challenge!  We have some yummy goodness to get you thinking and creating this week....Banana Custard!

And look at the lashings of cream to go with with it!  The bonus theme this week if you'd like to use it is 'Vintage'!

I wasn't sure what to do for my card, so I decided to pick up on the yellow.  Really that was easy....and obvious lol!...and I added AnnaBelle Cream Pearls to match the cream :)

 

My base card of Smooth White has been distressed and stamped with Scattered Straw.  The background stamp is from the BBD3 set.

The centre card was again distressed with Scattered Straw, then Frayed Burlap and finally edged with Walnut Stain.  My images are from All Things Grow, and the twine is Cream Twisted Paper Cord.

My sketch is for the Clean & Simple challenge this week....but do you think they'll notice I didn't add the sentiment in the right place??

Say It With...

 

I love to distress my card stock, it seems to open up so many possibilities, and I love that from there you can build your own background!  Of course you can stamp on DP as well and distress it, so perhaps I just love to get out my sponges!

I started with my base white card and distressed with Scattered Straw, Wild Honey and Walnut Stain, then stamped the BBD1 stamp using Wild Honey.  This piece is matted on to white card that has beed distressed down each side.

My next piece of white card I masked a section before distressing with Shabby Shutters then Peeled Paint.  Reversing the mask I then distressed with Broken China.

My image is from the All Squared set and sentiment from Acacia.  I added 4mm Pumpkin Sprinkles to the centre of some of the flowers then adhered the 6mm x 4mm White Pearl Drops around, and 3mm Pumpkin Sprinkles to the scallop punched edge.

Here we are again with another sketch challenge from AnnaBelle Stamps!  I don't mind this sketch - even if I do say so myself lol! - because it can be dressed up or down I think :)

The DT have created some gorgeous cards this week so be sure to pop by each for a sneaky peek at what they've been up too!

I kept my card with as few layers as possible, but will have to use this sketch again.

I've used one of Iwona's new sets - 'Acacia' - which is a beautiful native tree to Australia, and coloured with watercolour pencils before cutting out with a Spellbinders circle.  The gingham is our new AnnaBelle Digi Paper that has been printed on our Smooth white cardstock and the colour is Midori.

I'd best get a move on as I'm already a little late with this post!  We had a wonderful day in Melbourne yesterday, but I'm paying for it today lol!  Here are the links to the DT :)

Hello today!  What fun the hop has been so far!  There is still heaps of time to add your name to the list and play along for your chance to win our Hop set!  Check it all out HERE!

Well it's been a great day to have a bit of a play!  I checked out this weeks CAS challenge over at Splitcoaststampers and I loved the sketch on offer so I set about creating a card :)

A very simple card with sponging on the bottom of the card and grass stamped from the All Things Grow set.  The main panel has two different grasses stamped in both Versacolor Olive and Sage, and the butterfly in Orchid on Smooth White card.

I've added 3mm White Pearls down the centre of my butterfly and a 3mm Rose Sprinkle to the centre of my 'flower'.  This has been made in 16mm Hot Pink DF Satin, and I simply tied a couple of knots....so it's not a fancy flower lol!

We are having our regular visitors over Easter, so if I don't get back again before Easter I'd like to wish you all a very Blessed time.  May the joy of the Resurrection bring light in to your world :)

Hi today!!  It's been an 'all work and no play week' this week, and I very much wanted to do something today, but I didn't have time to colour!  So my favourite set to turn to at the moment is All Things Grow.

I kept the sketch from Card Patterns very simple, and as luck would have it, when I opened my 'white cardstock' draw the piece I pulled out for the centre didn't even have to be trimmed....I worked with it as is lol!

Sponged/distressed using Distress Inks - Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw and Rusty Hinge - then edged with Walnut Stain, I 'flicked' some drops of water on before stamping my main image which is also in Walnut Stain.

I am so glad I took time out to stamp, and if you're having one of those weeks make some time for yourself today :)

For my card today I've used some of that beautiful watercolour paper I was telling you about and cut a circle. Using watercolour markers I ran some colour across the card and then blended it together.  My main image was then stamped (I heat set the background to speed things up a bit) using Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate.  I then added in some extra colour to the sun and some shading before finishing with the sentiment.

Sunrise Sympathy

Hi all!!  When I saw the CAS challenge at Splitcoast this week I knew I had to play along.....and maybe more than once lol! - "Create your own background!"  

Unfortunately I needed a Sympathy card today, well two actually, but I already had one in my stash.  I used sponging/distressing for this background.  Cutting two Spellbinders circles I temporarily fixed the larger circle to the centre of the front of my card and lightly sponged with Scattered Straw (top) and Tea Dye Distress Inks.  Using the same colours on the centre circle I applied a little more ink until it was the depth I wanted.

This card uses the one of the BBD3 stamps as well as from BBD2 to create the pattern, and the flower and sentiment from Branch Out.  I also used my Simply Saturday Sketch!

It was fun playing along with this challenge, because I do love to create a background!

Say It With...

...A 1,2,3 Recipe!  1 Border stamp, 2 Petals and 3 Sprinkles!  This was a great idea from Sue, but I really had to think about how to do it would you believe!  I mean it's not that hard when all the elements I use nearly every day, so I had to laugh at myself!

Here's my card for this weeks challenge :

For my 1 border stamp I chose the dots from BBD1 and stamped them on to Smooth white with Brilliance Pearlescent Thyme, twice on the front and once on the inside of the card and the envelope.  I use to stamp my envelopes all the time, but I'd got out of the habit of doing it :)

The stems and sentiment are from the set Stemmed Flowers and were also stamped with Pearlescent Thyme.  I added 2 White Petals that have been sponged with chalk in the centre and AnnaBelle White Pearls added.

My 3 Sprinkles are 6mm Avacado.

The sketch is loosely based on this weeks Splitcoast challenge SC314 that I've flipped on it's side.

Say It In...

...Gold!  Well this should be easy, seeing I want very much to get some Christmas cards completed!  No rushing around at the last minute finishing them...not this year!

Using our Rich Gold EP I've stamped the images from the Christmas Scene Bauble set on to Vellum with Versamark, then heat set the powder.  I tried all different placings of the words, but in the end my mind could only go with a straight line lol!

The Pearls are three different sizes of our White Pearls, going for this cleaner look rather than bows above each of the baubles.

Sometimes I feel I need a third arm...one to hole the lamp....one to hold the item....and a third to take the photo!  The decorations were made by stamping one of the bauble stamps three times and then one of each of the scenes inside.  So you have to picture, as they spin you see the Shepherds...then the Nativity...then the Wise Men.

The first one is once again stamped on Vellum and embossed with Rich Gold EP, cut out and matted on to Gold Cardstock.  The second one I have embossed on to the gold card with our Opaque Vanilla EP (it looks better IRL).

With Sympathy

I love to play along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast, and this weeks theme calls for a Sympathy card, which is always a hard one, but a good one to have.

I pulled out some Bazzill textured white cardstock and cut a piece for the front.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do but started by air brushing some colour on.  I pulled out the AnnaBelle set Thoughtful Stems with the idea that I would emboss an image from it, so I started by trimming down the piece I had air brushed.  Not always as careful as I should be, today fortunately I was, and by only taking an inch from one side I realised I would do the same to the other and do a split scene.

Using AnnaBelle Opaque White EP I then stamped the images with Versamark and heat embossed.  The Pearls are 3mm White AnnaBelle Pearls.

Say It In...

...Black and White!  I'd been looking forward to this combo for ages, and then I sat to create something and my mind was blank lol!  Here's my card :)

I decided to use the Backgrounds by Design - Numbers set and some of our soon to be released Petals (and ribbon!).  The Petals have been stamped with Brilliance ink and the numbers background from the set, then I've coloured the tiny Petals with a black Copic and added 3mm Pearls to the centres.  The Brilliance ink is beautiful and rich....you just need to give it a few seconds to dry!  The tiny black Sprinkles are our from our extended 3mm range and they are called Licorice!  Unlike the other Sprinkles, the Licorice is a solid colour.  In all a further 8 colours have been added to this size :)

Owl Gift

I'm still having a bit of a play with my watercolour pencils, so I made this card for the Card Patterns sketch for this week :)

 Using the gorgeous owls from the  Hooo Loves Christmas? set I've stamped the image with Versamark on to watercolour cardstock and coated with our Bark EP.  We've just got in stock some great products from Scraperfect and I've used both the Srap-N-Tap pouch and the Embellie Gellie.  I've made a video to go with it showing how great the Gellie is and once I've edited it I'll have it up!

 The EP is a beautiful dark brown and worked in better than black EP for these colourings I thought :)  I pulled out my Clear at-you Spica gel pen and added some glitter to the present, centre feathers and the stars and moon.  

To create the Pearl Bling I reached for my Build-a-bling set and 3mm White Pearls, stamped where I wanted the bling to go and then adhered the pearls.  If you haven't seen how quickly these come together I hope the video shows this :)

 I used some more of my Mum's lace that I found a little while ago - it's so lovely - and paired it with the Floral Silhouettes set and White Pearls.

 I kept it very simple and added some stitching and sponging to the centre panel, and distressed the card it was matted on to.

Simply Saturday - SS110910

Simply...Thinking of you today.

 I think most of us can still remember the moment when we heard the news on this day, I know for me it's etched in my memories..

Todays Simply Saturday card is all about heat embossing which always looks very dramatic on darker cardstock.  I wish the day was a little brighter to show the beautiful colour that this cardstock is, but I've found some matching DP for it and I can't wait to make a card with it lol!

 I used two sets today - Thoughtful Stems for the flowers, and Branch Out for the sentiment.  Our Embossing Powder is a beautiful product from the UK, and this is our  Vanilla EP .  The Cream 4mm Pearls matched perfectly and were adhered using a Quickie Glue pen.

And don't you just love these new Spellbinders?  I am so in love with them :)

 Here is my card for this challenge, and I have to admit, grey and yellow - as much as I love the combo - are not colours I use together very often, but I think it turned out o.k.?

I found in my stash two shades of grey Bazzill which was very lucky, with the lighter grey matching perfectly my new Warm Grey Copics :) so I was able to colour match the ribbon!

My images are from the Sentimental Bluebell set and I stamped the main image with Memento London Fog and coloured with Copics YG91, Y17, Y21 and W00.

I added 3mm White Pearls to the circle image from the same set and it's been stamped in SU! So Saffron.

 I finished with some piercing, which I love to do :)
