Flowers...from me - SK062009

Card250609 A very simple card today using a stamp set from PTI that I hadn't pulled out for a very long time!  This card was made using the sketch challenge from Paper Craft Planet for last Saturday, and I didn't vary it at all, if anything I simplified it, (I still have book work to do)!

The DSP, cardstock and buttons are from the new card kits I will have ready very soon, and because all the supplies are sitting on my desk they were very easy to reach for.

Don't forget to pop in tomorrow and across the weekend for this months Freebie Friday giveaway, for your chance to win!

And check out the store for 20% discount on qualifying orders through to the end of June storewide!  (excludes Spellbinders not in stock)

Until tomorrow, happy stamping,

Fancy a Cupcake? - TECC73

Card220609 I received an email last week from Sam at Ryemilan's Stamping and Scrapbooking about the PTI anniversary set that was due out, and do you know I had completely forgotten about it!  I received mine early last week, but hadn't had time to even take it out of it's box, but I knew there was a cupcake in amongst the stamps.  I've used it today for the TECC challenge.

The base of the cupcake was stamped with Palette Burnt Umber, on Smooth White Cardstock.  The frosted top of the cupcake was stamped with Versamark, Hot Set Powder was sprinkled over the top and heat set before I applied the Blue Ice Glitter, and then heat set again.  I then cut the frosting out and placed it over the cupcake so I could gauge exactly where to stamp the cherry.  I used Spellbinders Classic squares to cut the main image and scalloped border, then used dimensional foam to attach the frosting.  The little bright pink dots on the frosting are micro beads that I ordered in just to see what they were like, and I used Glossy Accents to adhere them and to brighten the cherry!

The sentiment is from the PTI set as well, and I don't think you can ever have too many different ways to say 'Happy Birthday', that way you will always find exactly the right one.  It was stamped in Taken with Teal from SU!, and I added some tiny 3mm rhinestones to finish the border.  All DSP is also from SU!

I hope your weekend was fantastic - I know mine went quicker than ever !  Have a great day,

Retro Mojo

Card1270509 I love the flexibility of photopolymer stamps, or clear stamps as they're known.  With the main image I was able to curve the sentiment - from Papertrey Ink - to fit in with the centre circle!  The beautiful flower was stamped with Palette Burnt Umber and is from Jolies Fleurs from Lizzie Anne Designs, and I have coloured this with Copics.

The cardstock is SU!'s Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp and Pumpkin Pie, and I wish I could tell you where the DSP came from - I love it! (which is probably why I bought it)

I finished with some buttons from the Birthday mix.

Check out the other great Mojo Monday projects here for some incredible inspiration!

Happy stamping everyone,

All Things Grow - TECC 69

Card250509 I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Weekends are the best when there is nothing else on, and you can pick and choose what you want to do first.  I had this card started on Saturday, and ended up by spending my entire Sunday afternoon cooking and so didn't finish it.

Using the sketch from Taylored Expressions I pulled out a Papertrey Ink set I haven't used in a while - Garden of Life.  The DSP from Scrapbook Walls set the colours for this card, and really it all came together fairly quickly, I just must have had too much time on my hands...LOL

Centre250509

Spellbinders Classic Rectangles gave me my centre as well as the corner to this card.

I added Rose Dew Drops in the corner and buttons on the flowers, and I was done.  I have a whole new shipment of buttons hopefully arriving this week and another little surprise next week....but I will hold you in suspense for that one!  Don't forget this Friday starts the weekend blog candy give-away and I hope to see lots of you drop by and leave a comment.

Thanks for stopping by,

Cast All Your Cares....

Card140509 Todays card uses the sketch from Paper Craft Planet for this week.  I had in my mind chosen this paper from my stash as the one I wanted to use, so I worked from there.  The words are from a Papertrey Ink set called Everyday Blessings, and they are beautiful.  Stamped on Vixen White using Palette Noir, I then cut them out with my Spellbinders No.2 Die and matted it on to Cameo Coral by SU!

The Flowers were made with Sweet Pea Flower Soft, and I simply followed the directions from the Starter Kit, and these can be found on their web site.  I stamped a solid image from Inque Boutique along the bottom and added a little more Flower Soft.

I haven't used my sewing machine for a card in a very long time, because I simply don't have the knack.  I have this inability to sew crooked lines, as much as I love the effect, and I tend to follow exactly where I have been before, but I tried very hard here.  I love it everytime I see it, and as they say, practice and then practice some more.

Today I also have some cards to share with you from Sandie, the winner of last months Freebie Friday Candy.  Sandie has also sent me a lot of fantastic links to other cards made using Flower Soft.  Thanks Sandie!

Over the weekend I started two cards and didn't finish either until this morning.  Both of them were made using the TECC sketch challenge, and both are very different.

The first uses a stamp set from Stampin' Up! - Sassy Stems and was very quick.  I really have no reason for not finishing it yesterday.

The image was stamped using Palette Noir Black on Smooth White and coloured with Copics.  Matted on to SU! Sage and then on to some pretty DSP from my stash.  The ribbon is from Papertrey Ink, and matched the paper beautifully!

Sunflower270409 This card uses a Penny Black stamp I have had for many years.  The image was stamped using Palette Burnt Umber on to watercolour paper and then coloured using the same method I used in this tutorial.

I adhered it to BBP Java, which is a really  dark chocolate brown, and then cut freehand around the image.  The DSP here is from a SU! pack.  The sentiment was stamped on to cream cotton twill using Burnt umber once again and affixed with double sided tape.  I stamped the image twice and coloured a couple of extra flowers so that I could 'pop' them with dimensional foam.  The very top flower is popped - a little hard to tell in the photo - and of course the one sitting over the ribbon.  Because the image is so detailed it looked a little lop sided so I added some brown metallic brads and pierced the paper down the right side and across the top to finish.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and for those that desperately need rain that some fell your way - we had 25mm!

Enjoy your day in whatever you are doing.

Just a Quickie!

Flowercard030409  I had made this card for last weekends TECC sketch challenge, but I just didn't get to post it!

I used some lovely SU! DSP and gave it a light sand along the edges.  The words are from a Papertrey Ink set, and I made my SIL's name using my JustRite Font set.The felt flowers are from the Cha Cha collection, and I finished them off with some Dew Drops in the centre.

It was a quick and simple card!

Have a great day, and I hope you remembered to put those clocks back!

Sharing with You..

Card040409  Well it's back!  After nearly two weeks my computer is home, and I can get back to business.

This card uses the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, and as I look at the photo I realise the pearls look crooked, but I assure they are straight, so I must blame my photography..LOL

I took the words from a SU! set called God's Blessings, and a small Lil Stamp from Inque Boutique for this card.

Both the square and circle were cut using Spellbinders and embossed, although it is very hard to see, and raised with dimensional foam.  The words/image were stamped using Palette Burnt Umber on DSP from Papertrey Ink.  The little section at the back was embossed using a Cuttlebug folder and lightly sponged with Creamy Caramel (SU!) to take the starkness away, and wrapped with a gingham ribbon.  Above this section I pierced the cardstock in a zig-zag pattern.

Centre040409 The entire front of the card is raised using dimensional foam and has been matted on to Smooth White Cardstock, and I have added three Pearl Dew Drops along the side.

I hope you're having a great Saturday.

Bunnie Surprise

 Box280309

I made this little gift box/bag last week using an idea that I had seen before many times but was inspired to do it when I saw this one.  Isn't it just beautiful!  Mine is no where as elegant but what a great idea for our Spellbinders!

I started with the largest die from the Labels one collection - there has been an urgent order placed for these and they should be back in stock with the supplier soon.  I used glossy white cardstock and ran the dies back through to emboss the edge.  Using the dots from a Papertrey Ink set I stamped both die cuts with Versamark, then used a brayer to roll on the ink.  Once done I gently wiped any excess ink off with a tissue.

This gorgeous little bunnie is a stamp that I have had for about 7 years and hadn't used it for some time, but he was fun to use again, is from SonLight Impression.  Stamped once again with Palette Burnt Umber and then coloured with Copics and cut out.  The words and little eggs are from Papertrey Ink.Sidebox280309

For the bag in the centre I used the bag-a-lope technique and trimmed to fit. Don't forget to leave a comment on the Freebie Friday post for your chance to win the blog candy!

No Easter eggs in it just yet...I would find them too tempting!

Have a great Sunday afternoon.

Butterfly Nature - Mojo 79

Card280309   This is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday.  Now I was basically finished this card the other day, but have been a little lost as to how to edit it etc on another computer.  Well I have done my best, but the card is a different coluor IRL - more coral than red.

The stamped images are from the SU! set Touch of Nature, one that I just love.  I used Palette Burnt Umber on smooth white cardstock and coloured the images with my Copics.  I cut them all out and ran the Copic marker around the edge to cover any remaining white cardstock showing through, before I applied Glossy Accents which really makes the colour come to life.

The DSP for this card is Inque Boutiques Cabana, the colours in this pack are just so pretty.

The bottom scalloped edge was done with my Carl cutter and I added little dots of Gold Pearl Liquid Pearls.

Centre280209 The stemmed leaves I added as an after thought this morning, it just looked as though it was missing something!  They look a little grey here but they are in fact a Copic that matches SU! River Rock and a touch of green.  I didn't want a green that would take over.

The little sentiment is one from Papertrey Ink, and I initially stamped it in Cameo Coral and when that didn't look right I went over it using the Burnt Umber.  Just love clear stamps!

The ribbon is a 10mm grosgrain called Cafe Latte.

Butterfly280309 Lastly is the butterfly, and using some fine wire I curled the ends and attached it underneath.  I have some foam tape under the wings to keep them raised and 3mm wide X-Press it tape down the centre.  A few Dew Drops in the corner and it was done!

Don't forget to add a comment on the post below for your chance to win some adhesive and choose some ribbon.

Spiral Bouquet - Mojo 78

Card180309  It is a beautiful day here today, and just the perfect temperature for Autumn.

This card is for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge for this week, and I have used a set that I haven't used for a while from Papertrey Ink called Spiral Bouquet.  It's just so delicate and pretty!  The flower images have been stamped on Smooth White cardstock and then cut out, with the larger flowers raised using dimensional foam.

I curved the bottom of the cardstock using the circle cutter from CM, and when I went to mount it on Close to Cocoa I pulled out this scrap piece with the inverted scallop and thought it added just a little interest!  Some things are just meant to be...

The background cardstock is Spring Moss from PI and I ran it through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The half pearls are from SU!

I used my new little rhinestones on the centres of the flowers just as a last little touch.

Thanks for stopping by today, and thanks to everyone with your answer to my acetate query.

Birthday Sparkle

Card130309 It seems as though it has been a while since I sat and just made a card without using a sketch challenge to inspire me.  I love sketches because it gives you a base to work with, and I will quite often do a quick draft of what is in my head so that I know where I am headed.

With this card it was the paper - out of my long time stash - by Scrapbook Walls.  I will often buy beautiful paper like this and then hate to cut it and so end up keeping it for another day.  This paper I am sure I have had for at least 18 months.

The stamp is from SU! Stem Silhouetes, and I have used Palette Burnt Umber to stamp it.  I punched tiny flowers from the DSP and added the tiniest rhinestones to the centre.  I have edged all of the DSP with the stamp pad as well, and cut the swirls using Spellbinders Doodle Parts.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink stamped with Burnt Umber, trimmed to size and one end rounded using a circle punch.  If any of you haven't seen that done before just let me know and I will include it a future post.

Centre130309 I have wanted the Spellbinders narrow rectangles for a while, but as I still don't have them I improvised with my regular rectangles by cutting it down the middle and cutting out one scallop section.  I would have liked a little more length, and realise now that I could have simply cut it in the other direction and placed the cut out section in - next time.

I am by nature very shy, but I would like to share something with you that I was very excited about yesterday.  I visited the Mojo Monday blog after last weeks competition to see the final selection of cards, and there was mine in the top 16!  I didn't need to win a prize because just being there was such a thrill!  You can check out the slide show here.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy stamping,

Hello...Mojo74

Card190209  I haven't had time to do a lot of stamping this week, but started this one yesterday for the Mojo Monday sketch, and finished it last night, way too late to post.

The original idea came from the OCL web site and you can their version here, and I thought to myself what a great idea.  It has been a little while since I made the background myself, relying instead on DSP, but not today, today is mine.

I started by stamping the flower image from the OCL set Spring Garden using Palette Noir black ink over my white cardstock.  I coloured the images with Copics and then painted in between the images with Shimmerz Angel Wings.  The edges were distressed using a Tim Holtz paper distresser, but the side of your scissors blade can be used as well.  This was matted on to BBP Tangelo Blast.

Centre190209  As the background I had created had enough happening the first layer is simply white cardstock painted with the Shimmerz and the edges distressed.  The centre square was ran through the Cuttlebug folder and the dots painted with the Shimmerz and once again the edges were distressed.

I stamped the flower image three more times (for the leaves) seperately and coloured them in adding a bit of shading toward the centre.  I coated the flowers and leaves with Glossy Accents and allowed them to dry, and I just love how it intensifies the colour!  For the centre brad which is from the Medium Summertime Collection, I coated the top with Orange Peel Stickles which I have just stocked in the shop, and allowed it to dry.

Side190209 The sentiment and circle of flowers is from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for stopping by today, and if you would ever like to ask me something or let me know about a great new product you have seen, just drop me a line on my email.

All Things Grow..

When I made this card yesterday I was not yet aware of how badly the fires here in Victoria would be.  We had been told in the days leading up to yesterday that the weather forecast was not good, and the conditions for large scale fires were probable.  I can do nothing for those that have lost loved ones, 35 now, and those that have lost all belongings, we know nothing of their pain.  So prayer is the only thing I have today, and we pray for the safety of those still out their fighting the fires, and for the families of those that have lost.

Card070209  This card is for the TECC challenge this weekend, and I went for more subdued colours than I have been using.  The gray and black cardstocks are from SU!'s textured range, and I hadn't made many things with them, and they suited this DSP from Sandylion completely.

The grey was ran through the flower Cuttlebug embossing folder, and then lightly painted with Angel Wings Shimmerz.  I stamped the word sentiment from Papertrey Inks set Garden of Life, and flower from Flower Garden using Noir Black Palette, and coloured the flower with Copic markers.

Centre070209 The Dew Drops I used for this card are the Pearl ones that I simply coloured using my Copics, and it left them with a beautiful pearl look.  They were attached using Glue Dots.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Workshop Treats and Mojo72

Cake040209  I am having a workshop here on Friday morning with some ladies, so today I thought I would share with you what we will be making.

This first card doubles as the Mojo Monday Sketch.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, and the cupcake from Our Craft Lounge.  I have coloured the base of the cake with Copic markers, then painted the icing with Shimmerz and the frosting with at you Spica pens.Centre040209 The pink grosgrain ribbon is from TLOCS.

The DSP is from Stampin' Up!

The next card is using the Our Craft Lounge set Spring Garden.

Pinkflower040209 The images have been stamped with Palette Burnt Umber, and then outlined using Copic markers.  The image was cut using Classic Rectangle Spellbinders.  This very pretty DSP is from Inque Boutique and is being cleared here.  The ribbon is 10mm White Grosgrain.

I have used smooth white cardstock  that is a great 300gsm thickness, perfect for cards.

The final card is using the same white cardstock and DSP from SU!.  I love the flowers in this paper, and it suited perfectly what I wanted to do for this card.

Chocflowers040209 The DSP stands out perfectly with the white background of the card.

I have simply cut varying sized strips and adhered them to the front.

The flower image from Papertrey Ink and the words, are stamped with Palette Burnt Umber once again.

I finished with some Soil Dew Drops and Double Sided Satin Latte Ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today!
