You Brighten My Day!

I was happily visiting the blogs of all the lovely people who haved played along with our challenge this week when I remembered that I hadn't played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge and AnnaBelle's is the sponsor!  So I quickly pulled my box of stamps out, grabbed a new set I haven't even begun to use and stamped!  Thankful CAS is always the theme and in 10 min I had this one done :)

Not even time enough to add Sprinkles, and those feathers were calling out to them lol!

The challenge this week calls for scallops so I hope this counts!

Birthday Script

Happy Tuesday :)  It's warming up in Victoria this week but it's not going to hit 40 so I think that's a plus!  I've just come in hot and sticky from watering and decided to finish tonight in the cool of the evening.

Simple, quick and easy to do!  Using one of the script background stamps from BBD6 I stamped down a piece of Pebble cardstock using Versafine ink.  Cut a piece of vellum to size allowing enough to fold under the centre card and stamped a sentiment from Fanciful Flowers and gave it plenty of time to dry!  The centre panel has been raised with dimensional foam and two 4mm Licorice Sprinkles adhered to the top right corner.

Simply Saturday

Good afternoon!  Have you checked out the AnnaBelle blog today!!  I have posted all the new sets along with a giveaway and special deal, so be sure to pop by and check it out!

I thought seeing the new sets are out I'd share a couple of cards today.  The first is using the new set Garden Silhouettes and the second is for a 21st we are going to tonight....a boy's 21st!  I knew it was going to be hard to come up with something, but this goes beyond that...I struggled!!

I did a group of these cards a couple of weeks ago, but I won't bore you with them all today lol!  I used three Distress inks and swiped them - direct to paper - across, up and down the cardstock and then overstamped with the silhouette.

It was Sue K's card HERE that gave me my card today!  But mine turned out very boring looking, and if I had more time I'd go again, but I just don't!!  It needs something!  I became very frustrated with my cutter (even after I'd put in a new cutting mat) because I had to keep trying to make my squares square!  Is it just me or do others have trouble with this??  Anyway by the end of it I think I'd had enough lol!

Best get the salad together to take and get myself ready!  Have a great evening everyone :)

With all my cards this week I only managed one card for today lol!

With the challenge being a one layer card I just had to sponge/distress!  Using Mask-It I sponged/distressed each of the sides, and before lifting the Mask-It  I stamped our dots from the BBD1 set.  What do you think, a little too out there lol!  I was hoping for a layered look, I guess 'faux DP' :)

Release Day 2

There are so many sentiments here I didn't get to use all of them lol! but I did use...one :)

My first card has been coloured with Copics and a touch of pencil for shading.
I went a bit 'arty' with this one lol!  This card measures 14cm x14cm and is watercolour paper stamped with Brilliance and coloured with Inktense pencils.

This flower definitely had a Christmas feel to it so I had to use a sentiment from tomorrows set :)  The backgrounds are BBD2 & BBD5, and once again I've used Inktense pencils.

AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop & Release Day 1

Hi and welcome to our first Blog Hop for August and the release of our first set this month!  We have four sets being released over the next four days which is very exciting!

The first set is Whimsy Flowers :

This 6" x 8" set was designed with the idea of making both quick and simple cards as well   as complex ones!  The images are great to colour or paper piece!  It will be available from this Friday once all the sets have been released with a very pecial deal!

For this image I've coloured the centre image with Copics and sponged the sentiment circle before stamping the 'Birthday Greetings'.

 
I wanted to see how well pencils would work on Kraft cardstock, and just added some shading outside the rectangle for dimension.


I kept this very 'clean & simple' once again!  My image has been coloured with Copics and the background air brushed before stamping the smaller flower.

Pencils again for this one, but this time Inktense pencils!   Both the yellow and green backgrounds are watercoloured as well :)

Thinking of Daisies

It's been a wonderful few days with rain falling - as well as the temperature - to prepare us for Winter!  We turned our heater on for the first time last night, and it was lovely snuggling under a blanket to stay toasty warm lol!

Today I've used the new Daisy Delight stamp set, and set about colouring it with Copics.  I started with the flowers which was the easy part then filled in colour around each of them.  I wasn't happy with the first colour I used, and so the end result is several layers of different Copic colours!

For my base card I used Smooth White card stock and sponged/distressed it with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, then overstamped with the new BBD5 set.

Release 2 - Lil Michelle Swinging By

Hi and welcome to day two of AnnaBelle Stamps Release!  We have another little cutie to share with you today, and it's Lil Michelle Swinging By :

I had lots of fun colouring another fun image from the very talented Helen Pickup, and I hope you will too!

I used watercolour markers for this one and added chalk for the sky.  My second photo was taken without the flash so it showed the chalk...you can only just make it out in the first one :)  The Sprinkles are 6mm Turquoise and the Twisted Paper Cord is also Turquoise.

For my second card I've created an svg file so that I could cut Lil Michelle out and I also created the scallop oval....I can see I am going to have lots of fun with this machine!

I went back to Copics and pencils to colour this one, and sponged the oval (which I also cut on my Black Cat!) with Distress Inks.  The Sprinkles are 6mm Artichoke and the Twisted Paper Cord is Olive, so be sure to check them both out in the shop :)

Release 1 - Lil Monster Gone Fishing

Hello friends and welcome to the March AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop!  If you've come from the ABS blog then you are on the right track :)

I have to say that I have had such fun colouring this little guy!  I think I have made him just about every colour, and I still don't have a favourite....although I have done two green ones lol!!  Hand drawn by Helen Pickup, I just know you are going to love him as well :)

I may have mentioned that I purchased a Black Cat Cougar cutter just before Christmas, and I hadn't had much time to have a play...well last Friday night I spent a bit of time (over Skype) with Karen Strong the lovely lady I bought it off and I'm now on my way....well nearly lol!  I've managed to make an svg file for our Lil Monster - no more fussy cutting - and I found it easy enough to stamp on the die cut by laying it on a dark piece of cardstock!  He's lined up pretty well don't you think?  I hope to have files available for some of our sets very soon!

I made the box from a file I purchased :)

I've used this weeks sketch from Card Patterns Challenge blog sketch 106, and my card is 14cm x 14cm.

Release 2 - Backgrounds By Design 3

Hello and welcome to day two and our second set - Backgrounds By Design 3!

In case you haven't noticed I love using stamps to create a background design, and with this one you can use it for so many occasions :)  I used it a lot in my cards for yesterdays release...I just didn't mention it because I was a day early lol!

I made this one for one of my brothers birthday this week :)  The main stamped image is from Tree-MEN-dous.

This could be used for a male card as well I think.  I've used two of the background/border stamps and my other images are from All Things Grow.

This is a pre-made box that I stamped with one of the border stamps, but once I'd inked it I dabbed some of the ink off using a tissue before stamping, then added the silhouette tulip from yesterdays set - Easter Hope.

Release 1 - Easter Hope

Hello friends!  Here we are for day one of our February Release with the first set this month - Easter Hope.  Easter is the season I love most (and I'm not just thinking about the chocolate lol!).

The tulips for this set were created by Bella  and the remaining stamps by me :)  I wanted words that could be stamped on the inside of cards as well.

I love yellow for Easter - if you couldn't tell!! - and clean and simple cards :)  For my last card I used Copics to colour the tulip and pencils to shade.  I masked the main image before lightly stamping with my background stamp  (which I'll show you tomorrow!).

For this card I used a Spellbinders die to cut and emboss, and keeping the die in place I've sponged on some colour, then double stamped images from the set.  I the piece of Bazzill I stamped the dots from the BBD1 set with Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate

Preview 2 - Backgrounds By Design 2

Welcome to the second AnnaBelle release for this month!  I am the first stop on your way along the Blog Hop so you have called in at exactly the right time lol!  Follow the link below, leaving a comment on each blog as you go, and you could win this fantastic set!

Introducing Backgrounds By Design 2 :

For my first card I went traditional..sort of!  Chocolate seems to be a part of every day at the moment lol!

The tree image is from the set Santa's Star and has been stamped on to XPress It Blending card with Memento Tuxedo Black, coloured with Copics and shaded with pencils.  I've sponged around the outer edge just to soften it a bit.

For my background i took one of the border designs and stamped it repeatedly on to Kraft card with Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate (there it is again!), then added one of the small designs in between.  This panel has also been sponged.

The centre of my tree was masked with Post-it notes then stamped with another of the small designs with Versamark then embossed with AnnaBelle Hi Gloss clear EP.

My second card I wasn't so happy with and nearly didn't show it, but I ran out of time to make another lol!, so here it is!  I went Chocolate monochromatic - I seem to have it on my mind :)  Stamped the same border stamp along the edge then added 3mm Cocoa Metallic Sprinkles.  The centre image is from our new set Christmas Wish, and this photo doesn't show up the first border stamp on the left side of the set...it's been stamped with Versamark on the white panel.
