Brother's Birthday - Mojo 90

Card100609 The Bow Easy's arrived today!  You can check them out here, and if you are only wanting the Bow Easy I have included an option with postage!  What do you do the minute you receive a new toy?? you use it, and I quickly cut a piece of ribbon and made a double bow just to be sure it's as easy as it looks...and it was!  Unfortuneately today I needed a card for one of my brother's, so not a bow in sight.

Today I used my JustRite stamps to make this card using the sketch from this week over at Mojo Monday.  I used a 1 5/8" border and stamper, and the Special Occasions and Small Letters Fonts for the round disc at the top, and a larger stamper for the word 'Brother' and the Special Occasions Font.  These were both stamped with Palette Burnt Umber ink, cut out with Spellbinders Circles and Tags, and then sponged lightly with SU! Really Rust.

I took the plunge and pulled out my sewing machine today - I do have sewing to do, but I didn't quite get to that :)  I stitched with white cotton around the edge of the main card which is 14cm x 14cm Kraft, and then sponged lightly with Burnt Umber.  Then using brown cotton I stitched on the first layer in a zig-zag stitch, adhered the next, and used dimensional foam to raise both the star and tag.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Friends - Mojo 87

Card190509 Well today I fiddled, and fiddled with this card.  Do you have those days?!?  I stuck it on, I took it off...I stamped in blue, green chocolate, and then blue again...I even stuck the ribbon on, and had to carefully take it off again...and on and on it went.  But here is the final, and I would love to hear what you think!  I may need to take it apart once more!..LOL

This is my card for the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, and I love the colours in this paper...but then I love anything with chocolate in it.

I decided before I get any of the new JustRite stamps I would use some that I already have, and so pulled out  a favourite in the Harmony Classic Circle Stamper II.   I used the Friends centre and stamped it in Bordering Blue (SU!) and Palette Burnt Umber, and the decorative border in Old Olive (SU!).  All these pieces were then cut with Spellbinders Circles.

The second image on this card was made using a set called Jolies Fleurs from Lizzie Anne Designs, and I have coloured this with Copics.  The smaller flower was stamped again, coloured, cut out and raised with dimensional foam.

Centre190509 I have sponged most of the different sections to this card - I love doing this - using a sponge dauber, to keep with the look of the DSP I have used.

I added piercing around the square - cut with Classic Square Spellbinders - as well as the bottom section.  The ribbon is double sided satin -Latte.

I hope your week has started well, and you find time to play in your 'office'!

Happy stamping,

Anna Mae's new dress

Sk042509 I know this isn't how Flower Soft is traditionally  used, but I just couldn't resist while my flower stems for another card were drying!  Yes, Flower Soft is now in stock, and I have 9 more colours and stamps on their way.

This sketch is from Paper Craft Planet for this weeks challenge.  Anna Mae, from Our Craft Lounge is happily throwing the gift and confetti at the same time - well that was my intended look!

Stamped with Palette Noir Black and coloured with Copics, I filled her dress with the Aleene's Tacky glue and sprinkled on the Spring Mix Flower Soft.  I have done the same for the present.

Card280409 The words were created using my JustRite Brayton Font, and the largest of my circle wood stampers....I haven't been holding out on you, the new vertical stampers are still on their way....and the word 'birthday' just fitted on, so I can't wait for this new stamper.

SU! designer paper, a Cuttlebug folder and Papertrey Ink ribbon helped to complete this card.

I'm off now to put together my 'Flower Posie' for another Flower Soft card.

Just a Quickie!

Flowercard030409  I had made this card for last weekends TECC sketch challenge, but I just didn't get to post it!

I used some lovely SU! DSP and gave it a light sand along the edges.  The words are from a Papertrey Ink set, and I made my SIL's name using my JustRite Font set.The felt flowers are from the Cha Cha collection, and I finished them off with some Dew Drops in the centre.

It was a quick and simple card!

Have a great day, and I hope you remembered to put those clocks back!

In Our Prayers

Card100209  It's hard to put in to words exactly what you want to say sometimes.  With some fires still not yet under control and the wind still incredibly strong we can only think and pray for the people effected.

This card was made using the sketch over at Paper Craft Planet, and some new DSP that just arrived from SU!  I had said that I was trying to use up my DSP - something that will never really happen - but I couldn't resist some new ones to play with.

I started with All Year Cheer I (discontinued I think) and Petal Prints for my centre sentiment (from SU!), and my JustRite Brayton font for the side words - on special for this month, with 15% off.  The textured cream cardstock is the new Vixen at TLOCS.

Centre100209 The centre was cut from my Classic Rectangle Spellbinders and embossed, as well as the swirls from Doddle Parts in either corner.

I finished the card with SU! grosgrain ribbon and buckle.

Inside100209 Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope that you are all safe.

Friends

Friends090109  Did anyone else have Sarah Kay swap cards when they were younger?  I pulled mine out the other night to take a look at.  Mind you I only have about half a dozen - times were really tight when I was growing up - but they are just so gorgeous and very special!  The clothes are very very 70's.

So this is one of two Sarah Kay stamps I purchased and you can see the whole collection here.  I coloured her using my Copic markers and matted her on Cherry Crush and Pumpkin Pie.  The DSP I have had for ages.  Of course I had to fit in some little Dew Drops as well...LOL

Centre090109I can never seem to take a close up without it looking blue!

The sentiment is from the JustRite Harmony Classic Circle Stamper II which I haven't used before, but there are some great words in this one that I will get a lot of use out of.

I learnt something new ages ago and I know that I have saved the link somewhere, so when I find it I will share it with you.  Have any of you ever had trouble with solid rubber images not stamping as clearly as you would like them?  Well this fantastic lady did a tutorial and you need to sand them with a very fine sand paper or sanding block in both directions.  I used my SU! sanding block.

The pictures show the difference between the first sand - second - and the final stamped image.  Amazing don't you think?  Now most of you may have already known this, but for those of you like me who didn't, it's an amazing discovery!

18th Birthday!

Shane311208  A Happy New Years Eve to you all, I hope you have an enjoyable one!

I started with a sketch in mind that I wanted to do, but the end result is nothing like how it started out!  You know when something just is't going to work?

The main image is from Papertrey Ink, and is a great one for a male birthday card.  It has been stamped using Palette Ink Burnt Umber, and SU! Certainly Celery.Close311208  I have cut the image out using  a new Spellbinders die, and sponged the inner border.

Side311208

In the background I have used a beautiful DS paper from SU! and wide Chocolate grosgrain ribbon across the centre.  The die cut images over the ribbon are also from Spellbinders - aren't they gorgeous!?!

I needed to personlise the card, and the JustRite stampers worked once again.  Using the Brayton font both for the number and the name on the front of the card.  The sentiment is from the same PI set as the tree.

Have a safe and Happy evening - we spend a quite time at home with the boys, keeping us up at least until midnight - if they can!

If you get time over the next week or so I would love it if you could do a quick survey to the right of screen.

Happy Stamping this 2009!

A Quickie Birthday

Bdayname221108  Adam had a birthday party to go to this afternoon, that I only heard about yesterday, so this morning I needed a very quick card before we headed out to do our Saturday morning jobs.  The sketch challenge for this weekend set me up with a great design for a simple boys card - you can see details here - so it was done in no time!

I have used the Brayton Font and Harmony Rectangle Stamper Set from JustRite Stampers for this once again.  It just makes it very easy to personlise a card.Wsc67[1]The cardstock and DSP is from last years SU! collection.

I hope to do another using this sketch before the end of the day, so we'll see how I get on.  I hope you can join in as well.  Andreapostsiggy

Birthday greetings....WSC65

SV300007 copy   This is my attempt at this weekends sketch which you can find here.

I have used my new Harmony Rectangles and Complete Brayton Font for all the wording on this card, and doesn't it look great.  I new I would love making up exactly what I needed for my cards.

SV300008 copy The cardstock is Bazzill Basics Fawn and the DSp from SU!, and yes once again I have made use of my Spellbinders.

I shall try and be a little earlier tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by,

All Boxed Up....JustRite

Treatbox071108  O.k. every one, let's get excited....it's raining!!  Now I can't remember the last time it rained like this, so I have the door and windows open so I can hear it trickle down the pipes and in to the tanks....it's an incredible sound that we give thanks for.

So on to today's little project.  The stamped centre is from the JustRite Baking Stamp Ensemble, and life certainly is sweet.

I have stamped the centre on white cardstock using markers to colour the different parts, and die cut with circle Spellbinders.  Once cut I coloured with a Copic marker keeping the die in place to form the outer white border.

Treat071108 The outer border is stamped on Creative Memories DSP and cut with a scallop from the Spellbinders circles.

I made the box because I wanted to match the lid with the DSP I used in the centre.  I had placed my finished centre piece on different boxes, but I simply wanted it to match.  I have used a very simple basic box pattern, so let me know if you would like to see a tutorial, I would be happy to share.

The gorgeous button is from the new range of buttons from Buttons Galore over at The Little Online Card Shop, so be sure to drop by and take a look at those.

The base of the box is made from SU! Real Red and wrapped with red grosgrain ribbon.

Looking forward to tomorrows sketch challenges, and maybe even a wet weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today and saying Hi!

Kraft Box - WSC64

Kraftbox0311 Happy Monday!  My son Nathan has randomly drawn a name from a very large bag - he could barely reach the bottom! - and has pulled out Chris L - congratulations!  I shall get those goodies to you.

Rather than doing a card for this challenge, I decided to decorate one of the kraft boxes with my new JustRite Baking Stamp Ensemble.  Do you think it gives away what might be inside!?!  From the new sets that are available, this was one I new I had to have.  I love to bake and give handmade goodies at Christmas, it's the simple things.

These kraft boxes come together very quickly, and are great to stamp directly on as well, before assembling.SV300062 copy   I stamped the outer border is in Moulin Rouge and cut using my Spellbinders,  and the centre is stamped in Burnt Umber, both Palette Hybrid inks.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I wish all you punters great success in tomorrows Melbourne Cup.

JustRite Box

SV300052 copy The Splitcoast Stampers site is an incredible place for inspiration, and the ladies always have fabulous ways to do different things.  Today they have posted a tutorial on a triangle box that will make a great idea for gift giving this year, and I can see it in all different sizes! Here is the link for you to give this a go for yourself - Triangle Box.

Mine looks a little like a Christmas tree, doesn't it!?

I have made mine a little bigger, but I think that next time I will go smaller.  The JustRite Christmas Ensemble certainly filled the front though, and I have added some Liquid Pearls to jazz it up a little.

SV300054 copy

All of the creases and around the Spellbinders scallop and circles have been sponged, and the centre front ornament has been raised with foam squares.

The cardstock is from Stampin' Up!, Wild Wasabi and Ruby Red, with Copic markers used to colour the holly in.

Don't forget tomorrow is Freebie Friday, and I will be posting in the afternoon with the details of the goodies.  Tell your neighbors, tell your friends to come along and join in the fun.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping,

Tutorial Tuesday - Christmas Decoration

SV300050 copy When I first saw this decoration on the JustRite web site, I knew I had to make it.  So when my long awaited order arrived yesterday this was the first thing I did....well after I unpacked and put aside other peoples orders and found room on my floor to spread the stock out...then I made this.

This beautiful ornament was designed by Kellie at Polished to Perfection.  People amaze me with their creativity, and Kellie has made some incredible things using the JustRite products.  Pop on over and take a look for yourself!

A decoration is not the easiest of things to take a picture of when you don't have a Christmas tree out to hang it on, but I hope you can get the effect of what has been done.

SV300046 copy

This is the Harmony Classic Circle Stamper III and one of the borders from the Christmas Stamp Ensemble.  I have inserted the border in to the stamper and then stamped the image twice in Moulin Rouge Palette Ink.  I have repeated this process with a different border and stamped the image twice with Jardin Moss Palette Ink.

SV300045 copy

To cut the circles I have used my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders, and rather than facing the cutting surface up as they suggest, I have turned everything around, with the cutting mat on the bottom, then my paper, the spellbinders and lastly the 'C' placemat.  This gives me a better view of where the cut will be made.

Repeat this with all of the stamped borders.

SV300047 copy

For the centre I used my new complete Brayton Font  (25pt) to make the words and personlise it.  I stamped this image twice and cut out the circle that is one step down in size from the centre so that it will hang freely.  Decorate as you like and then taking a length of fishing line or gold/silver thread fol in half and secure in the centre.

I have used a bead at the top and bottom to help hold it in place.

If you are using double sided designer paper like I have used here from Stampin' Up!, you need only cut two scallop pieces and the same sized centre as the borders, but if you are using single sided then cut four.

Taking two of the same borders adhere them to the designer paper and fold in half.  Fold the single borders in half also.  Hopefully from this photo you will see how it all comes together - had a bit of bother taking photos and holding the circles in place!  Adhere half the green border to the back of the half red border, and move around till you have all four pieces in place, but do not fix off the last section until you have inserted the centre pieces.

SV300051 copy I hope this all makes sense, and I am off to make two more for the others!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Birthday Brother - WSC61

SV300079 copy  I have two cards to make this weekend for birthdays this week, one of which is tomorrow!  But which one did I complete first - not tomorrows, that would be too easy.

Using the Weekend Sketch as a guide I put together this one for my brother.  I have used designer paper and cardstock from last years SU! catalogue.

I didn't have the word 'brother' anywhere so I made it up using the Small letters for the Monogram Stamper.  I am very excited because all of the new JustRite Monogram Stampers products are on their way, and I can't wait to start using them.  If you would like to be notified when they arrive and are in store just sign up for The little Online Card Shops newsletter!

SV300080 copy All the circles were cut using the Spellbinders Petite circles.  I don't think I have cut so many for the one card!  The sentiment and apttern circle stamp are from Papertrey Ink.

Have a great Sunday,

Golden Stars

SV300031 copy  More Christmas Trees today using the same set from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

I have stamped them across a piece of Kraft cardstock and added 'Gold Pearl' Liquid Pearls for decoration.  The stars were stamped with Versamark and then AED gold ep was added and heat embossed.

I love this bright red polka dot ribbon and thought that it gave ithe card a real lift against the kraft card.  I used my JustRite to make the words and the outer border - looks like little Christmas Trees! - is from the Special Occasions Monogram Stamper Kit.SV300032 copy

The scallop circle is from the Petite Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Thanks for stopping by today!
