Glitzy Star

I had in mind to play with some glitter after making a card for my sisters birthday a couple of weeks ago.  On her card I used a strip of double sided tape to adhere some glitter, and it worked pretty well :)  Sonce then I have wanted to try a card like this, with LOTS of glitter!

Using double sided tape in widths of 12mm, 6mm, and 3mm I ran them across a piece of white cardstock cut to size.  I wanted to add some white glitter to the small spaces between the tape so I ran a Zig two way glue pen between and sprinkled over the white glitter shaking off the excess.  

I then peeled away the backing to the double sided tape and sprinkled over the very bright red glitter - it looks much more vibrant IRL!

For the sentiment from the Jeweled Tree set I used a glue pad.  The star was cut from a Spellbinders die, and leaving the die in place I tapped the glue pad all over the star then sprinkled over the white glitter, shaking off any excess.

 

I found all these mediums worked pretty well at adhering the glitter from AED.

Joy to our World - ABSC007

Hi everyone!  The count down is really on now, and it's all just so exciting!  This weeks sketch from AnnaBelle Stamps will run for two weeks and is the prize sketch for the month, so be sure to join in the fun. 

I changed where I placed my bling just a little to tie in with the sentiment a bit better.  The image from the Holly Branch set was stamped with Palette Moulin Rouge on Smooth Cream cardstock, and cut with my Spellbinders Classic Square dies.  The gorgeous cardstock underneath is metallic and looks incredible IRL.  I pierced the scallop border and raised it using dimensional foam. 

The Sprinkles are Chilli and Artichoke 4mm from the Mini range.

This favourite DSP of mine is of course from SU! and the ribbon was from a gift I received last year - it's always great to re-use/re-cycle!

Just a little late!

I started the card early enough for last weeks Mojo Monday sketch, but I certainly didn't finish it in time!

I used an idea from Kylie - thanks Kylie! - but because I wanted a larger bauble, I stamped the bottom half of the tree from 'Jeweled Tree' with Versamark, sprinkled over some silver ep, then turned my image and stamped the tree again so that the bottoms were lined up.  Heat set the ep and coloured with Copics to match this great DSP from Alison Ellis Design, it's so glittery and shiny!

I added 6mm Blossom Sprinkles to the bauble and matted it on to SU! Pink Passion.

Really it was a very quick card, but when your husband has been away for 6 days with work you can't spend too much time in your office...can you?  He's back at work today, so I think I need to sneak a bit more time playing :)

Merry Christmas - ABSC006

Hi everyone! It's time for another AnnaBelle Bling Sketch Challenge.  Today I've used the tree stamp from the Jeweled Tree set and stamped directly on to DSP with Palette Burnt Umber.  I hadn't used my Emerald Mini Sprinkles at all, and they seemed to work with this paper from Black Market Paper Society.  Do you like the new Sprinkles on there as well?  I couldn't resist using them :) they are a metallic pearl in a cocoa colour, and they are gorgeous!  These will be released along with lots more new Sprinkles in January, and I can't wait to share them with you...obviously!

I sponged lightly around the edge and added some piercing to the top corners.  The sentiment is from the same set, and I thought it made a great base for the tree.

This weeks sketch called for bling added to the bottom of the sentiment, so it was easy to add more of the same used to decorate my tree.

You would think that taking a photo of a white card would be easy, but I always seem to have trouble with it...I so admire the blogs who's photos look so professional.

Lieing in bed on Saturday night I thought of this very simple card using the Jewelled Tree set, and got to make it today.  Stamped with SU! Real Red on Smooth White cardstock, then matted on to beautiful metallic cardstock.  The Sprinkles are 4mm Chilli and were adhered using Glossy Accents.  I used words from the same set on the inner of the card and drew some decoration around the outer edge with an atyou spica red pen.

Wishing You.. ABSC005

Another Friday and another sketch challenge!   I had good intentions of adding a matching box with this card but just didn't get there...maybe tomorrow!

Todays sketch calls for bling added to the top and bottom of the card, but I thought I would add some in the centre as well :)

I chose three of the holly images from the Holly Branch set and layed them out on my acrylic block until I was happy with the curve, then using Palette Burnt Umber I stamped on to Smooth White cardstock.  I went with soft minty green Copics for the holly and added 3mm Chilli Sprinkles along the stem.  5mm Chilli Sprinkles across the top and 6mm down the side - just to be different!  Added the sentiment from the same set, and with a red Atyou Spica pen marked around the outer edge with a quick design.  The scallop edge was made using a corner punch.  Let me know if you haven't seen this done before and I'll put together some pictures :)

I ran a strip of wide grosgrain ribbon around the card, and tied the bow with the Bow Easy and adhered with Glue Dots.

I'm really loving the Kraft red and green colour combo this year, so I hope you're not seeing too much of the same thing!

Triangle Boxes

I love making these boxes!  I put them together this morning for a lunch I was going to - it's a great time of year to catch up with people - and they come together so quickly.  This year I thought I would make these for the Christmas table as well, and have everyones name on each box, as a sort of place setting, with some yummie goodies inside.

I've put together a tutorial HERE and hope that you find it useful.  I did a silly thing and started writing the tutorial before tea not thinking to save it, and the computer was turned off on me, I'll remember next time :)

The stamp today is from the Holly Branch set which is still on special through until 7th December!

In a Town - ABSC004

My card today uses the city image from Wise Men, along with the small star and sentiment.

I stamped everything using Palette Burnt Umber, and Copics to colour.  Once I had cut the image with Spellbinders Classic Rectangles I kept the image in place so I could softly sponge around the outer edge.

The DSP is from SU! and cardstock from Bazzill.  Using the SU! Word Window punch I cut from the same DSP and inked around the edge, then added 5mm Artichoke Sprinkles.  I hope you like my take on this weeks sketch and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Celebrate...

Todays card took a whole lot less time than the computer editing of it!  I am very fortunate as I have a new camera :), and with the new camera we had to have a new memory card, but the computer doesn't like the new memory card :(  So after setting up to take the photos and realising I couldn't get the photos on to the computer I had to take them all over again with the old memory card.  It would seem my computer is not up with the new technology....and with a new camera comes more mega pixels which really s l o w s the old computer down.  But here it is.

The sketch for todays card is this weeks over at Paper Craft Planet.  I've been wanting to add lots of Sprinkles to the Jewelled Tree stamp for ages, so today was the day.  I cut the image freehand rather than slicing straight lines, and when I got to the bottom I thought I would make the tree a little smaller, so I just snaked my way across.

The tree image was stamped with Real Red SU! ink on Smooth White cardstock, then working in sections - because the Glossy Accents dries fairly quickly - I added both 4mm and 5mm Chilli Sprinkles and the tiny 3mm Silver Sprinkles.

Matted on to Bazzill, Smooth White and then Kraft cardstock.  The sentiment is from the same set and was also stamped using Real Red.  Double sided red satin ribbon to finish across the top, with the bow made using the Bow Easy.

I have been going to make a card all week using the sketch from last Saturdays Paper Craft Planet Sketch, but simply didn't get there!  We have had very hot days - much like Adelaide - and today the temperature has dropped and we've had showers, the first hint of rain in over a month, so it is wonderful to see....but doesn't explain why I ran out of time!  I just think the cooler weather might be nicer to play in :)

I've used the image of the baby Jesus from the Wise Men set, and stamped it with SU! Not Quite Navy.  This DSP is from CM that I must have bought last year...maybe...and I just love the blues in it.  It was a complete fluke that the image lined up with the DSP design underneath of the bauble, and I hadn't even noticed it until I was editing the photo.

You can just make out the piercing around the DSP, it's more noticable IRL, and because I have pierced from the back to the front you can see little bits of white all the way round.

Wise Men - ABSC003

I've used the Holly Branch set quite a bit lately, so for todays sketch challenge I decided on the Wise Men set.

I started with some textured cream cardstock and stamped the main image using Palette Burnt Umber.  The detail in this image by Jasmine is incredible!

I coloured using Copics, and added the smaller star to the top left.

The words are from the same set, and have been stamped with Always Artichoke by SU!, which co-ordinates with this DSP.

The Sprinkles are 4mm Artichoke, adhered with Glossy Accents.

Sour Cream Boxes

I needed to make some gift boxes for our P & F so I decided on the Sour Cream Box.  This quick idea looks effective I think, and comes together easily.  I've put together a tutorial HERE if you'd like to see how it, and the gift tag are made.

I pulled out my great little set from JustRite Stampers, A Merry Little Christmas - I hope to have this back in stock very soon! - and stamped on Smooth White cardstock with SU! Rose Red, and Old Olive.

The DSP is also from SU!, and I finished them off with some co-ordinating ribbon.

Hi everyone on this lovely day!  I've just been out watering the trees in readiness for Thursdays 'Adelaide' weather of 41 degrees - it's going to be a hot one, and still only Spring.

Todays card is back to Kraft cardstock - love it.  I've stamped  one of the holly images from Holly Branch with Palette Burnt Umber over half of the front of the card (this is a standard A5 card - (an A4 piece split down the middle lengthways), and then coloured with Copics.  The words have been stamped on white linen cardstock and cut with Spellbinders Petite Circles, and piercing added to the scallop edge.  The pretty fancy white edge is another from the Spellbinders range.  4mm and 5mm Cherry Sprinkles were added down the bottom to finish.

Christmas Tree Lights - ABSC002

This is my card for this weeks Bling Sketch Challenge, and we'd love for you to join in!

Today I've used the Christmas tree from the set Jewelled Tree, and I've stamped it directly on to DSP using SU! Always Artichoke.  I love the Pearls and have used the 4mm White Pearls and 3mm Artichoke Sprinkles to decorate my tree, and adhered them with Glossy Accents.  It's only a few weeks now and we'll be decorating ours, and I can't believe it!  I usually wait until the 1st of December, but we'll probably do it on the Sunday before because it takes such a long time to put all my loved little collectables out - some as old as me!

The gems on the tree look so pretty IRL that I left the card with just the added sentiment down the bottom, and nothing more...although I did line up some more bling in the corners but resisted adding them to it.I hope you can join in, but be sure to take a look at the DT's cards, there is some great inspiration!  And the blog candy is still going if you haven't already entered that.

Baby Jesus

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  We went for a drive on Saturday to Mt Buller, and there was still snow!  Not a lot but Nathan loved it - he's never seen snow before!

This very simple card uses the sketch from Mojo Monday this week.  I've used the set Wise Men and stamped the baby image with Palette Burnt Umber and coloured with Copics.  I loved this image from when Jasmine first sent it to me, and really it could be used other than for Christmas.  The image was cut using Spellbinders Petite Circles and scallops.

I was going to emboss the white pieces in the background, but then decided to just keep it very clean.

  I added the large star from the same set and a small piece of co-ordinating ribbon from my SU! stash and a Sprinkle on top.
