Christmas Tag Hop

How are you all getting on with your preparations???  Cards done??  Shopping??  Baking???  So many things and once again so little time lol!  Today we thought we'd share some of our Christmas Tag ideas.  It's not a traditional hop with a prize at the end, but we hope you enjoy visiting the Belles :)

My tags, much like most of my cards are very CAS with not a lot of detail, so I hope you don't find them too boring lol!

My first one shares a card as well and a little gift wrapping!  - one down!

I made some cards at the weekend to try and finish up before sending them is too late, and did several of this one.  Using 12 x 12 Bazill rather than A4 does leave a strip over so I've turned them in to some tags.  I stamped my kraft tissue paper with the same ornament to match.  Sorry still about the lighting, but a new globe is on the way :)

My second group of tags used up some off cuts of smooth white.

I angles the top and punched a hole then sponged quickly with Antique Linen before over stamping with Forest Moss.  I've used three sections of the tree from Stamped For Christmas and turned the tree stand upside down for the trunk.  My fingers did get a little inky as I wiped away the excess ink :)

This is probably the set I've used the most out of the four Christmas sets released this year, I just find it such fun to colour!

My family and I are taking a few days out before Adams exams start so I simply didn't get anything new done to share, but I just know the DT girls will have some gorgeous projects to share!!

Thanks for joining us today for our second blog hop for October!  You should've made your way here via our October Guest Designer Karin!  Today we are showcasing the set Gifted Swirls :

I guess for me I like to keep my Christmas cards simple and this year I seem to be reaching for green a lot lol!

For my first card I simply cut a pice of card 5cm x 10.5cm and 'swiped' it with Distress Ink Shabby Shutters before stamping the tree image.  Added my sentiment and three Olive Sprinkles.

This next card took a bit of a shortcut by swiping directly on to my card then stamping the tree.  Using a sentiment from the Round for Christmas set also excluded the need to matt the word on to another circle, so this one was even quicker!


Just a couple of quick tags as well!  These tags use some I've just ordered in for the shop.  One side is a satin finish and the other matte, so I've created the same but used both side to show the difference just by turning over the tag :)  This cardstock doesn't distress as well as our Smooth card, but is easily worked and takes the ink smoothly.

I have to admit that I was running well behind again today!  By the time I finished uploading everything to the store and organising different things my cards were not what I wanted them to be, but I hope you like them anyway :)

I love dimension, even to a simple card like this, but I hate that you can see the dimensional foam!  Well I found a product whilst hopping one day last week and when I found out it was made here in Australia by Helmar I knew I had to stock it, so watch out for that because we will have it very soon!!

This one comes together fairly quickly if you have three small acrylic blocks!

This is going to be a little difficult to explain but I used an acrylic block with grid lines and placed two of the circles diagonally across from each other, and on the reverse of the block I place another two directly over the first two.....so when I stamped one colour I could then ink up the reverse side in a different colour and line it up easily...

Phew!  Well I think I'm going to just make it today!  I did finish my card yesterday, and I know I should've been more organised because you never know what could happen, so I should've been prepared when our power went out at midnight last night!...but I wasn't lol!  But just to show you my commitment I'm doing this before I have a shower lol!!  Yes when our power goes out nothing works because we need power for the pumps to run the water.  The boys had to go to school as is (we did have a jug of water to clean teeth though) but I can sneak one in as soon as I do this :)

AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop

Welcome to our first hop for September!  We have Dotted Flowers to share with you today, with some amazing creations from the DT, you may even recognise the design in my new look blog!  This set is also discounted by 20% for the next two weeks!!

With this card I found a scrap piece of watercolour card and coloured it with water based re-inkers and a spritz of water very quickly, allowed to dry then stamped the images with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I wrapped the ribbon around and secured with Orange Hemp Twine.

I kind of like the rustic look of the watercolour, but I still love to sponge/distress :)

My second card is a very quick one using BBD5 for my background, a sponged distressed panel next, then the main image.  All stamped on Smooth White card stock.

Here we are again for our second Hop for August!  Today we are using a new favourite - Squared Posies!  This set will be discounted by 20% for the net two weeks or while current stock lasts!

I really wanted to use all of these images today, but I got a little stuck on just one to begin with, then added another last night :)

I started with a one layer card and the daisy image for my first card!  To create the soft coloured look I've used pencils to colour and a smooth white cardstock.

This card uses a softer cardstock - watercolour 100% cotton - and gives a different finish to the penciled colouring.  This card was inspired by Sue W's card HERE.

I went very bright for my last card!  Using my Twinkling H2O's - which I haven't pulled out in ages! - my centre panel was created just using a large brush sweeping it across the watercolou paper.  The main card is ordinary Smooth white and before I painted on the Twinkling I sponged with Distress Ink - Broken China - so my base card was a shade darker.  The shimmer of the paint is so pretty and really stand out more on the smooth card.

My centre flower was coloured with Inktense Pencils this time and then cut out and attached to my background.  I finished with a sentiment from the set and 3mm Licorice Sprinkles.

Hi and welcome to our first Blog Hop for August and the release of our first set this month!  We have four sets being released over the next four days which is very exciting!

The first set is Whimsy Flowers :

This 6" x 8" set was designed with the idea of making both quick and simple cards as well   as complex ones!  The images are great to colour or paper piece!  It will be available from this Friday once all the sets have been released with a very pecial deal!

For this image I've coloured the centre image with Copics and sponged the sentiment circle before stamping the 'Birthday Greetings'.

 
I wanted to see how well pencils would work on Kraft cardstock, and just added some shading outside the rectangle for dimension.


I kept this very 'clean & simple' once again!  My image has been coloured with Copics and the background air brushed before stamping the smaller flower.

Pencils again for this one, but this time Inktense pencils!   Both the yellow and green backgrounds are watercoloured as well :)

AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop

Today we are hopping with a favourite set of ours - All Things Grow!  This has been one of those sets that I've reached for many times :)  Having just used this set on Sunday - yes I totally forgot that we were using it today! - I thought I would go in a different direction but still keeping it CAS.

This first card simply uses one of the butterflies stamped three times with Versacolor ink and cut out using a punch.  The check is from our digi collection and the twine our new Fuchsia Hemp Twine.

For my second card I still had the pieces of Mask-It left over from Sunday so I used them one last time lol!  This time I've used a textured cream cardstock and adhered my centre panel flat rather than raising it...it almost looks like a one layer card lol!  The sentiment is stamped with Distress Ink Walnut Stain and the Sprinkles are 3mm Blueberry.

BBD4 and Lil Monster's Balloon!

I've stamped Lil Monster on Smooth White cardstock and coloured him with Copics before adding the sky, grass and a little shading with pencils.  

To use the BBD4 set I distressed the top section with Storm Sky then stamped with Faded Jeans and Fired Brick.  I added some white detail using a white gel pen.  The centre (Faded Jeans) and bottom (Fired Brick) sections were both made the same way, distressed then stamped.

Hi all!  Are you ready to have some fun with the DT?!?  We have a great set to introduce to you today called Baby Joy and was designed by Iwona!

 This is a 6" x 8" set and the images are perfect for two step stamping as I've done below, paper piecing or colouring!I find that if I stamp the outline first it's much easier to see when you go to stamp the silhouette.  I stamped this image three times and managed to line it up each time, so I was happy with that :)

Here's the beautiful new set Acacia designed by Iwona Palamountain!

This is such a beautiful image to colour, and the sentiments Iwona has put together with it are fabulous!

The centre panel has been distressed with Scattered Straw then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and the back using Fired Brick.  The Acacia image has been coloured with Copics, cut out then mounted using dimensional foam.

I added a touch of twine to the side and a button (both available in store soon!).

The CAS challenge this week over at Splitcoaststampers is a word inspiration - Gift.  Of course the first thing that came to mind was birthdays and presents, but for me today it's friends.  I was going to give you a complete run down of my different thoughts as I made this card, based on the names of the Distress Inks I used, but I don't think you have all day lol!  So just very quickly the colours are Wild Honey (warm, soothing, friends), Spiced Marmalade (my Mum- favourite jam and one of my best friends), Rusty Hinge (how I'm feeling at the moment!), and Walnut Stain (long lasting friendships).  Enough of that now!  I also used BBD5, my favourite background that I use all the time, and a sentiment form Jasmines Garden (on sale right now -15% off)!

Once again with the Daisy Delight Silhouette i sponged the colours on to give a very soft impression.  The flowers have been heat embossed with AnnaBelle Opaque White EP and I was going to colour with Copics when I remembered you must never have the tip come in contact with white ep, it does some crazy thing with the nib, so Inktense watercolour it was!  The Sprinkles are 3mm Lagoon.

Is everyone ready for another hop?!?  We are featuring two sets this week that work beautifully together or separately!  Introducing All Squared :

This is a 6" x 8" set and the images and words fit within the border square.

And Squared Mother's Day :

This is 3" x 4" set and once again the image and words fit neatly in to the border square from All Squared.

On with my cards!

With this one I followed the Splitcoast CAS colour challenge for this week - Chocolate, Baby Blue, Sand and White.  Using the image from the Squared Mother's Day I inked it up using a sponge and stamped it into the border square which I stamped first, then added my chosen sentiment.

I made a ribbon flower using the tutorial on the AnnaBelle Youtube channel, but I changed how I did the centre in the original video. After punching a circle I pierced the centre to create a hole so I could poke my ribbon through and secure with some tape and then tied a knot on the front and moved in in to form the centre of the flower.

   My second card uses the sketch Sweet Sunday Sketches SSSC115.

For this one I pulled out my Distress Inks because I love sponging nearly as much as colouring lol!  All the card here started as smooth white.  The base card has been sponged with Walnut Stain and Brushed Corduroy and over stamped with an image from BBD3.

The next panel was sponged with Storm Sky and Brushed Corduroy before running through an embossing folder.  I then sponged again with Storm Sky over the raised edge.

Once again I sponged on my colours directly to the stamp but see how this one is beading a little more?  This was the first time I had used the stamp and I'm not one to prepare my stamps, I simply choose to get straight in and use them :)
