Announcing...Stamp, Embellish, Create!

Hello all my blogging friends!  At AnnaBelle Stamps we are very excited to share with you today Stamp Embellish Create!  This is a new social site we've been working on behind the scenes, and we hope you will love to come and visit...often!  We'll start a new regular Tuesday feature (the naming of which is still in debate lol!) from next week!  We'll include all sorts of things like tutorials, hints, cards start to finish, and anything we can fit in!  We want to build a community of shared ideas and a catalogue of answers to anything "How to..." in the stamping world, and with your help I know we can!

You can set up your very own page and customise it how you like.  Add your photos (any crafty photos using any products - not restricted to ABS) and share them with others.

Sunday Stamping

Today has been such an emotional day for me and so many others in our local parish as we farewelled our parish priest - Monsignor Peter Jeffrey - who is moving to New Zealand tomorrow to take up a new ministry.  He has been with us for the past 16 years and has been an inspirational and loving man to all...and we will miss him!  Ooops there I go again, the men in my family can't get over how many times I can cry in one day!  We have such a wonderful and vibrant parish and the send of was a perfect tribute to all the work he had done.

I've decided that not only do I yawn when others do, but I cry as well lol!  There must be something wrong with me!  So my therapy this afternoon after the BBQ on the lawns of the Parish House was to stamp!!

I popped by Susan's 'Simplicity ' blog to find her latest OLW76 challenge ...Grey with a splash of one colour!!  I rarely use grey, but this simple challenge was perfect for me this afternoon!

I could've done another one but remembered I needed a male birthday card for today!! So I got on with that instead :)

That's it for me today as I move out to the kitchen now to prepare the vegies to go with the chicken that I've just put in the oven, yes and it's a hot 36 today, so why am I doing a roast??

Simply Saturday

Today I'm playing along with the CASE-study challenge that has THIS gorgeous card by Jennifer Rzasa.

I used Jennifer's simple layout and use of twine for my card, as well as one of the new sentiments from Fanciful Flowers.

Now my next photo has nothing to do with stamping or cards but rather another joy of mine!  I love making sour dough and happily 'feed' my starter every day so it's ready for when I want to make a loaf!  This one I did the other day and sometimes they just work...even the split doen the middle is even lol!, so I had to take a photo :)  It was yum!!

Hello blogging friends!  I hope those of you in Australia had a wonderful Australia Day yesterday and enjoyed the celebrations!!  It was a typical warm day here and perfect for a BBQ!

I love a sketch to follow (which I think I've mentioned a number of times before!), it just makes the planning a little easier, especially when I'm still in my pj's as I made my card and typed this!  Nothing like taking things in a relaxed manner :)

For my card today I used our new Garden Silhouettes (because silhouettes make for a quick card!) and Distress Inks.

The base card has been swiped with Antique Linen - just around the edge.  The centre panel uses one of the flower images which I inked with Antique Linen first then sponged on the Ripe Persimmon before stamping across my card three times.  I added some of the grass across the bottom and wrapped our new .8mm Natural Twine around the top, then adhered this piece with dimensional foam.

The Pearls are 3mm Cream and the oval a Spellbinders die.  The centre has been distressed with Ripe Persimmon and the sentiment stamped with Gathered Twigs.

Simply said..

...In black and white.  I was aksed to make some Thank You cards for a boys 21st and I like CAS for a male :)

The white panel is raised with dimensional foam and the sentiment stamped with Versafine.  Not much more to say than that lol!  I'd better get on with making them now!

Sunny Monday

It's another warm day today so we've spent it inside rather than out in the heat :)  I loved the card used as inspiration this week at CASE-study by Jen Rzasa so I thought I'd make a version following the sketch of her card :)

I stamped the background stamp from Fanciful Flowers and cut in to 1" squares before distressing, then matted on to chocolate cardstock.  I was going to round the corners but then changed my mind :)

I was looking for some inspiration today and stopped by 'Simplicity By Late Blossom' where I always find it and decided to play along with the OLW challenge.  One Layer is something I like to do, don't have a problem with that, but this week it's a masculine card, something I always do have trouble with...and one layer ?!?

So here we go..

I punched the shape out of the sticky end of a post-it-note and adhered it  towards the centre of my card, then stamped the stree image from Tree-MEN-dous with Frayed Burlap and lightly sponged with Forest Moss.  Peeled away the sticker and added my sentiment.

I didn't think I was going to get any stamping in today because our septic tank was blocked this morning, and once nothing is going down the drain you don't put anything else in!  So no showers, no washing, no nothing lol!  Luckily DH worked out how to fix it by lunch time and we didn't have to call in a plumber and so saved on the weekend rates!!  So today was a good day to celebrate the male in our lives...it's just not his brithday yet lol!

Say It In...

More fun colours today!  I must have had them on my mind yesterday lol!

I watercoloured my background piece of card using Inktense pencils (bright isn't it!) and kept the stamped images a little more subdued using Distress Inks - Scattered Straw and Shabby Shutters.

The three Sprinkles are Lemon, Turquoise and Lime.  The Lemon is new and will be in store very soon :)

You Brighten My Day!

I was happily visiting the blogs of all the lovely people who haved played along with our challenge this week when I remembered that I hadn't played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge and AnnaBelle's is the sponsor!  So I quickly pulled my box of stamps out, grabbed a new set I haven't even begun to use and stamped!  Thankful CAS is always the theme and in 10 min I had this one done :)

Not even time enough to add Sprinkles, and those feathers were calling out to them lol!

The challenge this week calls for scallops so I hope this counts!

Sympathy Card

I was asked by a friend for a sympathy card and I always find it hard to know exactly what to do, as cards are so very personal, and knowing exactly what someone else would want to give makes it just a little hard...for me anyway :)

So I kept it very simple :

The base card has been swiped with Scattered Straw and distressed with Walnut Stain.  With the centre panel I simply used the Scattered Straw pad and pounded/stamped it directly to the card then stamped my silhouette images.  The smaller grasses were inked then stamped on to scrap paper before stamping on the card.

Birthday Script

Happy Tuesday :)  It's warming up in Victoria this week but it's not going to hit 40 so I think that's a plus!  I've just come in hot and sticky from watering and decided to finish tonight in the cool of the evening.

Simple, quick and easy to do!  Using one of the script background stamps from BBD6 I stamped down a piece of Pebble cardstock using Versafine ink.  Cut a piece of vellum to size allowing enough to fold under the centre card and stamped a sentiment from Fanciful Flowers and gave it plenty of time to dry!  The centre panel has been raised with dimensional foam and two 4mm Licorice Sprinkles adhered to the top right corner.

Simply Saturday

Good afternoon!  Have you checked out the AnnaBelle blog today!!  I have posted all the new sets along with a giveaway and special deal, so be sure to pop by and check it out!

I thought seeing the new sets are out I'd share a couple of cards today.  The first is using the new set Garden Silhouettes and the second is for a 21st we are going to tonight....a boy's 21st!  I knew it was going to be hard to come up with something, but this goes beyond that...I struggled!!

I did a group of these cards a couple of weeks ago, but I won't bore you with them all today lol!  I used three Distress inks and swiped them - direct to paper - across, up and down the cardstock and then overstamped with the silhouette.

It was Sue K's card HERE that gave me my card today!  But mine turned out very boring looking, and if I had more time I'd go again, but I just don't!!  It needs something!  I became very frustrated with my cutter (even after I'd put in a new cutting mat) because I had to keep trying to make my squares square!  Is it just me or do others have trouble with this??  Anyway by the end of it I think I'd had enough lol!

Best get the salad together to take and get myself ready!  Have a great evening everyone :)

Say It With...Anything Goes

Anything Goes is this weeks challenge, and it's perfect for the holidays!  Today I'm using one of our new release sets due out tomorrow, and this little guy is one of my favourite characters!

I showed a sneak peek the other with this card using just the sunflower and today Lil Monster Valentine is holding it :)  I've used Copics once again and the same Distress Inks to add the background colour.

Sunflower Vine

I had a lovely day today colouring inbetween doing some work lol!  I saw the sketch on Card Patterns and put it aside on my desktop just in case I found a little time, and I did today :)

This is another sneak peek of part of an image due for release this Saturday!  I'm excited about this one because it's one of my favourite characters :)

The sunflower has been coloured with Copics and cut out.  My back panel has been distressed, splattered with some water and wrapped with our brand new twine!  This twine is a fine 10lb weight and will be available very soon!  We have every colour you could ever need!!  The sentiment is also new and belongs to another set we'll unveil this weekend!

Here's the sketch I followed...I just hope I didn't have to use buttons lol!!

Sunday Stamping

I don't get the chance to stamp on a Sunday very often, but today has been wet (fantastic!) and most of my inside jobs are up to date (well almost!).

I wanted to share another sneak peek of the new silhouettes set being released next Saturday, so kept it very simple :)

I've stamped the main image with Distress Inks then added one of the sentiments before mounting it on dimensional foam, then co-ordinating yellow card then finally the Smooth White card base.
