Welcome to our last challenge for September!!  Who can believe it's October tomorrow with the countdown to being ready for Christmas only just beginning!!  We have some gorgeous new sets coming your way next week just in time for Christmas card preparation time :)

Today I went 'bright' and 'birthday'!  I reached for my Copics today and quickly coloured my presents before punching them out with a circle punch.  To match the coloured flower punch under the presents I simply punched them and then coloured with the matching Copic.

Pencilled Lines

I had some fun with my pencils today, and decided to try something a little different for me by stamping my image in a lighter colour than I normally would.  I've seen a lot of this around the blogs lately using Copics as the colouring medium, and I can't wait to give that a go as well :)  Now that it's finished I think I could've gone a little lighter, but it was a fun first try.

My base card has been stamped using BBD5 with Dried Marigold Distress Ink.  For my flower I used Stampin' Up! Mellow Moss, but now think a yellow would've been good like Scattered Straw Distress Ink.  The image is matted on to card that has been distressed with Spiced Marmalade and Walnut Stain, then on to a scrap piece of Bazzill.

I used my pencils to colour and shade - we are so lucky to have all these different items at our finger tips!

The sentiment has been raised with some dimensional foam in the centre and tape at either end.

Saturday Stamping

I'm running against the clock today because I decided to play along with the Card Patterns sketch last night not even thinking that it closed today, so I had to get a move on this afternoon :)

I have spent the last week doing a bit of an overhaul of my office because I was finding that my working area was getting smaller and smaller!  My office is only 3m x 3m which is taken up with the business side of things - computer, filing cabinets etc - as well as my crafting space and storing some stock, so I have to be tidy and it just wasn't working!  I'm happy to say it is looking much better :)  One more storage item to save and buy and then it will be perfect....for now any way!

I haven't done a lot of colouring lately so I really enjoyed playing with my Copics and pencils :)

My emboss resist background panels were stamped with Versamark and distressed with Distress Inks.

Say It With...

A male card was easy for me this week as it was Chris' birthday, so this was the perfect challenge...at least I had to be organised lol!

I started with a pre-cut 140mm square card and lightly distressed it with Antique Linen before stamping with one of our upcoming background stamps using Versamark and embossing with High Gloss Clear EP.  I then distressed over the top with Frayed Burlap.  I wanted the words to stand out but not as much as plain white cardstock would've.

The next panel uses Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain, and then my main Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Broken China, Faded Jeans & Walnut Stain.

I used a pencil to lightly shade under the tree and a white gel pen to highlight some of the leaves.  This is a perfect challenge to get in front with a masculine card - I have need of another one very soon! - so I hope you can play along with us this week!  Check out all the details on the ABS blog and add your link there as well :)

AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop

Phew!  Well I think I'm going to just make it today!  I did finish my card yesterday, and I know I should've been more organised because you never know what could happen, so I should've been prepared when our power went out at midnight last night!...but I wasn't lol!  But just to show you my commitment I'm doing this before I have a shower lol!!  Yes when our power goes out nothing works because we need power for the pumps to run the water.  The boys had to go to school as is (we did have a jug of water to clean teeth though) but I can sneak one in as soon as I do this :)

Today I used the sketch from last month or the month before (not sure which) from the ABS blog, and stamped my images on a linen card stock then coloured them with pencils.

I had so many more ideas for today but with Chris' birthday yesterday the chocolate cake came first :)

CAS-ual Friday Challenge

Hi all!  AnnaBelle Stamps is sponsoring the challenge over at CAS-ual Friday this week with a $20.00 Gift Voucher, and CAS cards are perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon stamping....nothing too strenuous happening today :)

The challenge this week is Mini cards - nothing over 4" x 4" which suits our A4 card stock perfectly.  

These cards are just shy of 10cm square and fit our 105mm envelopes.

I used the set Christmas Wish to create 3 one layer cards.  I cut a piece of Mask-It slightly larger than the front of the card then cut a square in the centre.  If I hadn't been aiming for one layer to keep these as CAS as possible then I would've simply cut the smaller sqaures distressed them then attached them to the main card...so much less work believe it or not :)  

The middle card sentiment is from the set All Things Grow, and I've used a couple of new colours of Distress Inks I've added to my collection, I also have lots more colours added to the store :)

One Layer Wednesday

Hi all!  I made this card for the One Layer Wednesday challenge and thought I'd better get it blogged!  Tell me, where do the days go??

This weeks them is 'babies' so I pulled out our Baby Joy set and stamped the image on Smooth White card stock with Memento ink, then coloured with Copics.  Added a couple of 3mm Waterfall Sprinkles to finish :)

Super quick!

Birthday Celebrations - 3rd Challenge!

Hello today for our third and final challenge for our birthday week!  Today's challenge is being hosted by Patti & Marion who have chosen this as their theme :

Make a card/project that has 2 of something starting with B!

This can be two bows, two balloons or two blooms which is what I've gone with today :)

Using Whimsy Blooms I stamped the flower twice and coloured with Copics Before cutting out.  My bottom panel has been distressed with Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain and the top Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick.  Both background stamps are a little sneak peek of what's to come :)

Birthday Celebrations - 1st Challenge!

Hello!  Welcome to the first of three challenges  to start our Birthday Celebrations!  Today's challenge is being hosted by Sue W and Kylie and they've come up with a very fun one to get us all started! It's a :

'A  1, 2, 3 Recipe'

~ 1 New Stamp(or a stamp you have not inked up from a set)

~ 2 Die Cuts/Punch Shapes

~ 3 Bling(gems, pearls etc)

 I started my card with not really knowing which direction I was headed and so when I got to the end I was a bit lost as to where I was going to add my '3 Bling' lol!  As you can see I've added just a few more than that, but I figure any Christmas tree has more than 3 so I'm not counting them, and just counting the three at the base of my tree :)

Seeing it's our second birthday next week I decided to take a bit of a look back through my box of sets to some of the first ones we released, and this set was the first set I ever designed.  Named Jewelled Tree I had the idea of our Sprinkles adorning it (probably not quite as many as you could place on it!), and thought it a good one to use for our first challenge :)

You are probably wondering then how this set can be considered a 'New Stamp', well it's not, but if you look closely you'll see some script on my base card (I'll show you a liitle closer below).  This is a sneak peek of another new Background By Design set coming up!

So to begin my card I cut a pice of Smooth White card to 12cm square and started distressing with Scattered Straw.  I wanted a really warm look so then I moved to Brushed Corduroy and then Walnut Stain.  I inked up my script BBD stamp with Brushed Corduroy and using a tissue I lightly lifted some of the colour in a few places before stamping.

AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop

Welcome to our first hop for September!  We have Dotted Flowers to share with you today, with some amazing creations from the DT, you may even recognise the design in my new look blog!  This set is also discounted by 20% for the next two weeks!!

With this card I found a scrap piece of watercolour card and coloured it with water based re-inkers and a spritz of water very quickly, allowed to dry then stamped the images with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I wrapped the ribbon around and secured with Orange Hemp Twine.

I kind of like the rustic look of the watercolour, but I still love to sponge/distress :)

My second card is a very quick one using BBD5 for my background, a sponged distressed panel next, then the main image.  All stamped on Smooth White card stock.

Say It In...Kraft, Red & Brown

I love this colour combo, in fact it even works beautifully for Christmas.  Not a Christmas card today though, I figure I will be doing plenty of those soon enough!

With the All Things Grow set still out I thought I would run with it again, so there's not a lot of explaining to do with this one, except perhaps the background stamp that I've used....not even the DT have seen this one lol!..I just couldn't resist, it's not always easy waiting :)
My Distress Inks today are Fired Brick, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain.  The cardstock Smooth White and Kraft and the Sprinkles 3mm Sultana.

Sunny Thursday Sponging

We are having the most beautiful day here, with the sun shining and just a light breeze.....beautiful!  I got my Distress Inks out today, not they are hiding in a draw, I keep them on top of my desk for easy access :)

I've used Fired Brick, Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw for the distressing and Black Soot for my images.  I'm not sure the right way to go about sponging like this, but for me I start with my lightest colour at the top - Scattered Straw - and then worked it a little darker coming in from the side.  I then started at the opposite end with Worn Lipstick working my way up to the yellow.  To blend the two colours together I've used Dried Marigold, and to darken the bottom Fired Brick, just to give a really dramatic look!  My three strips have just been sponged/distressed to match :)

My sets today are All Things Grow (should be back in stock mid September!) and Squared Posies for the sentiment, with 3mm Licorice Sprinkles to embellish :)

This card just fell together so quickly  I thought I would do another.  I usually save different challenge sketches to my desktop so that if I find a minute I can join in, and the one from CAS-ual Fridays was looking at me, but then I realised it was from two weeks ago!   Oh well, just a bit late for that one lol!

I just love playing with these inks and I would love the whole set of them lol!  I only have a couple in stock at the minute, but if you are looking for a particular colour I'll be placing an order with the supplier soon, so just let me know what you are looking for and I'll try to get it in :)
