Simply Ribbon - SS270310

Hi everyone!  I hope this Saturday finds you all with some time to play :) 

This weeks Simply Saturday project is all about ribbon.  I've taken a base card of Kraft cardstock and lined up some co-ordinating ribbon from the new AnnaBelle range soon to be released!  You'll find the great thing about the new ribbons is how easy it is to match the different ribbons with the use of their colour codes.

 My flower is from the Mum's Flowers set and has been stamped on Copic blending cardstock, coloured with Copics and cut out.  I raised the image with dimensional foam and attached it to an oval linen card piece cut with Spellbinders.

The tiny Gems under the leaves are the new Blossom Gems (in store soon) and they were adhered using Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.  This pen makes it so quick and easy, it's fabulous!  Kylie introduced me to them so I have her to thank :)

The sentiment is from the Flowers For You set.  The three words are all individual so you can line them up horizontally or vertically depending on the project!  Stamped on the same cardstock as the oval I then clipped out the ends using a square punch and run a pink Copic marker around the edge before adhering.

ABSC018 - Prize week

  Hi and thanks for visiting today for the AnnaBelle's Bling Sketch Challenge!  This weeks sketch was designed by DT member Jerusha, and it's a very pretty one.  I did however have one thing in mind for this sketch, and came out with another, so I definitely have to try again!

The winner from the last Bling Sketch has been announced, so pop over and check out the blog for details and all the other DT cards.

I wanted to go with soft pastel colours for this sketch - which is why I need to try again - but ended up with this lol!  I used the set Flowers With Love (which just happens to be the prize for this fortnight), stamped the images keeping the Spellbinders die in place, and coloured them with Copics.  I am trying out some new cardstock I have just ordered in specifically for the Copics and I'm happy to say we'll be stocking it....and Copics!  We will be starting off with the Copic Ciao's and expanding from there....and I am so very excited!! 

The ribbon (also new very soon) has been stamped with white pigment ink using a flower from the same set.

The flowers have 6mm Cocoa drops in the centres and 4mm Cocoa drops down the side of the card.  The edges of all the DP has been sponged lightly with Palette Burnt Umber.

Simply Saturday

Hi and welcome to another Simply Saturday!  I don't know about you but I'm finding that the weeks are simply flying by, with no sign of them slowing down lol.  Before we know it we will be in Winter and the Summer a distant memory :)

I'm not sure why, but I find white cards the hardest to take - which I've probably said before - but today I really needed the embossing to show up, and you can only just make it out.  You can see it a little easier in the second image because I didn't use the flash - well that was something not decided by me, the camera chose not to use it on the second shot.

I scored the card first up so I could judge where I wanted my stamped images to go.  I use a Scor-Pal, but a ruler and bone folder will do the job.  So this weeks card is a single layer card with some simple embossing.  I was tempted to run some ribbon down the middle of the embossed lines but restrained myself LOL! and left it as is.

The images from the Flowers For You set have been stamped with Palette noir and coloured with Copics.  I added some light shading under the flowers and stems as well as to the bottom of the vase.  A few AnnaBelle Gems either side of the sentiment and the card came together very quickly.

Say It In..

..Green and Blue!

Yes, my favourite colours, so it's pretty easy to see who picked the colours this week.  

I went for bright and cheery again as you can see with these flowers from the set Mum's Flowers :) and stamped a series of them so they were just touching at the petals to make it easier to cut the top, because I especially wanted a border. 

 I cut the larger flower out and popped it with dimensional foam over some green ribbon.  Added Turquoise and Lime Sprinkles to the side, and finished it up with an Easter sentiment from the Flowers for You set.

Get Well Michelle

Hi on this absolutely glorious day here in Victoria.  It has been the perfect weather to get out in the garden and prepare the vegie patch for the winter planting...I just wish I had got there lol!  May be at the weekend :)

We had some sad news this week with our DT member Michelle in hospital.  We are praying for a speedy recovery because we know she must be missing her craft desk.  This very bright card will certainly brighten her room, although I'm now thinking perhaps a more subdued floral card may have been more appropriate...

I've stamped Helen on Smooth White cardstock and coloured her with Copics.  Now don't look too closely because an artist I am not, but I've drawn the extra grass in before colouring.  I had to use a ruler because I always draw straight lines on an angle, no matter how hard I try!   My other touch of 'artistry' are the clouds.  Using Copic B91 I drew the outline of the cloud and then softened it using my blender pen.  Maybe with time this technique will improve :)

Simply Saturday

Hi and welcome to another Simply Saturday!  I had something in mind for todays card, and the one I ended up with is close....but not quite what I'd intended!  You see I was a little distracted today because I knew my card was not going to take long - perfect - but then when I went to reach for my heat gun it was gone.  You see Justin loves using it - not for crafting (well not my kind of crafting) - but for doing things out in the shed.  Just so you know how versatile a heat gun can be did you know you can also heat skins to go on drum sticks and shrink wrap for power cords? LOL!

 Todays card uses the same large scallops I used in a card a couple of weeks ago, and I've put together a couple of photos to show you how to cut with punches here.

Once I punched the three strips I pierced the scallops then taking a strip of scrap cardstock I secured the three pieces together at the back so I could trim them to the size I wanted. 

I wrapped a piece of satin ribbon around the scallops and secured it at the back, then cut three squares of co-ordinating cardstock and stamped an image from the Floral Stems set with Versamark and added white embossing powder, and heat set.

The scallop section has been raised with dimensional foam.  The sentiment is from the Swirl Tree set and Blossom 3mm Sprinkles were added to the end.

It came together very quickly - once I found the absent heat gun!  Hope you can join in with this weeks sketch and have fun with the scallops!

Flying High - ABSC017

Welcome to another Bling Sketch Challenge!  Thank you to everyone who took part, and the winner can be found over at the AnnaBelle Blog :)

I was the last of the DT to finish my card for this week's sketch, and I hate not being organised.  Until everythings done I can't concentrate on anything else, which is very hard when I've just received a lovely big delivery of...well, you'll just have to wait to find that one out!

I decided to pull out Diva for my card this week, I just love how happy she looks :)  Stamped and coloured with Copics, I couldn't decide whether or not to colour in the background...so I just did an outline.  From what I've learnt about Copics you can't use pigment ink on the image you are going to colour, but I like the crispness pigment gives you so that's what I've used for the sentiment, it was stamped after I had finished colouring.  The Sprinkles are 3mm Toffee that I added to some little punched flowers.

Hope you can find time to play along for this sketch, with another great prize up for grabs.  Remember you have two weeks in which to get it done.

Thanks...so much

Hi all!  I'm a little behind this week I must admit, but I had a lovely visit with my Aunt who went home last Sunday :)  She was taking the train home Saturday but fortuneately we changed her mind and as it turned out, it was for the best.  Melbourne had a most savage storm Saturday afternoon, and I hope those effected have been helped with the clean up. 

Saturday was Melbourne's storm and Sunday was Shepparton's!  On our way in to the station we had to pull over with rain so heavy we coudln't see to drive, and winds so strong a huge tree fell down right in front of us only metres away!  We were very thankful I reversed a bit when I first pulled over.  So that has been my few days, with the clean up in town still going on, and we feel very blessed that we had no major damage at home. 

It's always nice to be able to say 'thanks' to someone, and I hope this card will do exactly that :) 

I've used an image from the set Flowers With Love and stamped it twice to form a frame for the sentiment from the same set.  Using one of my favourites of the Spellbinders Labels I then cut the shape.

The flowers were coloured with my Copics, and I did an extra flower for the right hand side and raised it with dimensional foam.

The DP under the label was pierced around the outer edge from the wrong side, and the lighter DP has been distressed a little along all four sides.  The Pearls are 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and a 6mm in the corner.

I need to get moving and pack this up tonight with some goodies :)

Simply Saturday

Hi and welcome to another Simply Saturday!  I don't think you could get much more simpler than this card, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :) 

  Taking a piece of A4 Kraft cardstock I cut it down the centre lengthways and scored and folded it.  Using a large square punch I punched the front panel and adhered some DP behind and stitched around the edge.  I mucked up a little on the left side (fortuneately) so that's where the button came in to play and the sentiment.

The two little cupcakes are from the set Jasmines Cupcake and I used the Glossy Accents to put a shine on the frosting.

So to form part of the sketch today I would love you to include either some stitching or faux stitching on your project :)

Say It With....

..CAKE!  Welcome to the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog new Friday segment, with this week concentrating on Cakes!

The girls have put together some great cards using cake images from the AnnaBelle range, and when you see some of them you will think we were working with a sketch, but some of us just must have been on the same wave length!

For my card I chose the cake image from Helens Party and some wonderfully bright DP from SU!  Glossy Accents on the pink icing to make it really shine, and Copics for the colour.

I added some great buttons to the side, and stitching (again) around the edge.  It's not clear in the photo, and I always have trouble showing this, but the large square section in the centre is raised with dimensional foam, as well as the birthday sentiment and cake.

Simple Flowers

I had some time today to finally get some stamping in!  I seem to always be missing the beginning of the week.

Now it's only a very simple card, with not a lot of colouring or embellishments, but it's exactly what I felt like doing today :)

Using a flower double from the Flowers With Love set I stamped it twice on Smooth White cardstock and then once centred above, leaving just enough space for my sentiment.

I had the sewing machine out already so thought why not go around this card as well.  Now when you see my next two cards you will realise what I'm saying :)  I've had to be super organised this week as my Aunt (my Mum's sister) is coming for a whirlwind visit tomorrow by train, and staying until Saturday.  It's my Mum's anniversary this Friday (not sure where 3 years has gone) but we both still miss her lots, so it will be nice to share some time with her. 

The Sprinkles are 6mm Rhubarb and they actually match the Copic colour perfectly, but the picture just doesn't show it LOL!
