Blossom Tree

 The last few weeks have been beautiful here - still very cold at times, but the blossoms have been stunning.  The pear and cherry tress are possibly my favourite, but I love all the fruit trees as their cycle starts again....it means yummy fruit over the next 5-6 months.

So with our fruit trees in mind I decorated the tree from the set Swirl Tree with 3mm cream pearls, using the sketch from Mojo Monday.  These pearls are sold in little containers of a mix of 3 sizes (3mm, 4mm, and 5mm) and approximately 120 pearls.  The little 'flowers' I've added at the bottom are simply a 3mm pearl in the centre and five 4mm pearls round the outer.  The pearls aren't self adhesive, but you have a little room for movement when using a product like Glossy Accents.  I like this simply because it gives time for adjustment, but not so long that you can't move on to the next step.

The tree was stamped with Palette Burnt Umber, coloured with Copics and cut out using Spellbinders Classic Squares.  I added some piercing around the outer edge and ribbon to the side.

Flowers for Jasmine

I've been itching to make these flowers for ages!  The idea was sent to me by Sandie who forwarded the link to Daniela Dobsons blog.  You have to check it out, these are so easy to make!  When I saw the sketch from Paper Craft Planet I immediately thought of these flowers.  I didn't have tissue paper thought I did have some vellum that wasn't too thick, and it certainly gave the flowers some body.  I used my Copics to add some colour to the edges of the punched flowers, and secured them with gem brads.

The main image is from the set Jasmines Garden and has been stamped with Palette Burnt Umber and coloured with Copics.  I've cut the image out and adhered it to the DSP from CM.

You can't see all of my new Spellbinders edge, so we'll wait for that next time, it is so beautiful!

Birthday Diamond - Mojo 105

When I saw the Mojo sketch this week, and all the beautiful cards that had been made with it, I couldn't wait to give it a go!  Well it was a little more involved than I thought it would be, and so took a little longer, but I think I'm happy with the end result..

The image is from the Helens Party set and words from Swirl Tree.  I started with the paper today, finding some pieces I had over from another project, then decided on the image I would use.  It has been stamped with Palette Noir and coloured with watercolour crayons.  The cardstock isn't watercolour card so I did have to take it a little easy with the amount of water, so I haven't done too much blending and highlighting, in fact you can barely see  the shadow around it!  The Sprinkles are Artichoke and have been adhered with Glossy Accents.

Today is grand final day for AFL in Australia.  Now we don't really follow football, but I have to say GO SAINTS!! (sorry Kylie).

September Freebie Friday - Mixed Sprinkles

Welcome to Septembers Freebie Friday weekend!  Has everyone seen the new Sprinkles at AnnaBelle Stamps?  I am so excited to offer the three mixes of Sprinkles this weekend!  Each container has approximately 180 6mm drops of transparent colour, and on top of that you can screw the containers together to save on some space, how great is that?  There is a total of 24 colours so far in this collection, but you never know when that might grow..

Flying High

When I was at secondary school we had to split some subjects like languages, and sewing and art, in that we had half a year of one then swapped.  I loved sewing, had been taught at home, and was good at it.  But I hated art.  My only wish now is that I had taken more in on shading and light, and dimension.  I had wanted this little cutey pie to look as though she is running down a hill - to gather momentum for flight! - but I just don't know how to achieve this.  So that is the story behind the image I was 'trying' to create, now how I did it.

The image is from the set 'I Can Fly'  and I stamped her with Palette Burnt Umber.  She's been coloured with Copics and then covered with a Versamark pen so that I could coat her with clear ep and heat set.  This makes the image lovely and shiny, but it also means I didn't have to mask her.  I then stamped the flowers - I did have to mask these - and then finished colouring the scene with Copics.

The words are from the same set, and these have been stamped on to Vixen Cream.  I've used a circle punch and then edged it with the same Burnt Umber ink.  The Pearls are from the Small Cream Pearls Mix and are the 4mm size.

There's a Snail in the Grass

Is'nt he a happy looking snail?  I don't think any of the snails in my garden would look that happy...especially near the vegie patch! 

I felt like colouring and cutting the day I made this card, so I stamped a few extra images from this set called Mums Flowers and cut them out.  The grass and the pink flower have all been raised using dimensional foam.  After colouring with Copics I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the centre of the two flowers to really make them shine and add even more dimension.   I love this DSP from Scribble Scrabble, but then I love most paper!

The words are from the same set, but are actually side by side.  The clear stamps make it so easy to ink up exactly what you want, and stamp just where you want it to be stamped.  So I simply inked 'I Love' on the edge of the stamp pad, cleaned the stamp, then inked 'you' using the side of the ink pad once again, and on to the paper right where I needed it to be.  I love clear stamps!

I have another DT member card to share with you today as well.  This one is from Tiffany and she has used the set Jasmines Garden.  It has been great fun seeing everyone elses cards, and it's wonderful that we'll have that to look forward to each week.

Birthday Bounce

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Chris' birthday with his parents and my Aunt and Uncle.  We aren't big party people so the nine of us - including the boys - went out for tea and came home for birthday cake...very nice.

Todays card uses the Helens Party set, and the words are from Diva.  Stamped with palette Burnt Umber on Smooth White cardstock, and coloured with Copics.  I stamped the balloon twice so I could pop it, and I also added one of the single flowers for a bit of decoration.  The Sprinkles down the side are Pumpkin, and are a bright orange in colour (not so clear in this photo).

Ida and Lauri both used this set over the weekend so be sure to check out their cards!  Teresa  made a card using Elephant Valentine and Deb used Swirl Tree.  It is so amazing to see what these very talented ladies have come up with!

Birthday Swirls

This weekend my dh turns 50, and I can't believe it!  Where have all the years gone?  I have been reminding him more than once this year that he is over 5 years older than me - which is something that will never change of course - but this year the little tease may have been more for me.  It really does come around quickly.

I thought he would appreciate a card from AnnaBelle Stamps seeing that is all he has heard about and seen for months now, but I don't really have any true male stamps in the collection - yet.  This set called Swirl Tree is by Bella, and with the right colours I thought it would come close :)

I've used the sketch from Mojo Monday #104 and stamped the tree image using Palette Burnt Umber.  I went back to my Copics today, but also added some sponging to soften the Vixen Cream cardstock.  I chose the little hanging present from the set and stamped them directly on to the tree and also a few extra seperately so that I could later cut them out and adhere.

I combined two of the word stamps for the centre sentiment and cut everything using Spellbinders Petite Circles.

Ribbon just didn't look right, not in any of the colours I had, so I just cut some co-ordinating cardstock and distressed the edges to match the outer cardstock of the same colour.  A few Sultana Sprinkles and hopefully I have a card he will like...but he's a sweety, and likes most things I make for him.

I have two other cards I would love to share with you :) from DT members Kylie and Michelle.  Kylie has used the set Jasmines Garden and Michelle used I Can Fly.  Both cards are just gorgeous so be sure to drop by and say hello!  I'm so excited!!

Birthday Cupcake

Todays card uses the main image from Jasmines Cupcake set, words from Swirl Tree, and Blossom Sprinkles.  I've taken the sketch from TESC for this week.

I hadn't used my watercolour crayons for ages, and after having a chat with Michelle who was telling me of the many mediums she uses, it prompted me to try an old favourite.

The image has been stamped using Palette Noir - should have used Burnt Umber I know - on to watercolour paper (I pick this up at Lincraft or K-Mart), and using an aquapainter I picked up the colour from the crayons.  These will last me forever!  I remember at the time of buying them how expensive I thought they were....but then I started buying Copics!

The DSP is from Black Market Paper Society,  and cardstock Bazzill Java.  The images were cut out with Spellbinders Classic Rectangles and Petite Circles.

I found this ribbon in my very organised stash - organised now - and if I remember correctly this is from SU!

Happy Birthday!

A bright card to start a brand new day!  After a few hiccups this morning, AnnaBelle Stamps is finally open, and I am so excited!  Pop over and visit so you can see all the new sets we're opening with, as well as all the colours of Sprinkles we have - they are so much fun! 

So todays card is bright and cheery....and extremely quick to put together.

I've used the brand new stamp set 'Helens Party' to create my card today.  I had this in mind yesterday, so I was hoping it would be as quick as I needed it to be, and it was.  Stamped using Palette Noir - first time I've used black in ages - and coloured using Copics.  The cardstock is actually a very birght white and the photo doesn't quite show this, but the brightness of the white really makes the coloured images stand out.

This close up is a little better :)

The front panel has been matted on to black felt cardstock and then on to a pre scored white DL card.

Friends...

Hi everyone, and thanks for stopping by for another sneak peak!  I've taken a small stamp from the Jasmines Garden set to make the centre of the flower, using Palette ink and Copics to colour.  The illustrator for this set is a young artist just starting out from Queensland Australia, Jasmine Hambling, and she created two sets for me in her unique style.

This bright and cheery DSP is from my stash, and I've matted it on to Pink Passion cardstock from SU!, pierced holes and joined them with a white gel pen.

The Sprinkles are called Raspberry, and these are 6mm drops of transparent colour with foiled backs - foiled so that the colour really stands out!

My picture looks a little out of focus, but my camera does the best it can :)

Flowers - Mojo Sketch

After weeding and feeding around our fruit trees yesterday morning I felt as though I deserved some stamping time in the afternoon!  I showed you the first card earlier, and here is the second. 

This card uses one of the new release sets called Mums Flowers, and was illustrated by a wonderful artist - Helen.  They immediately shout bright and cheerful, so I decided to try it with some more subdued tones to see if they worked as well....what do you think?

The images were stamped with Palette Burnt Umber and coloured with Copics.  The sketch is Mojo Mondays for this week and it's a give-away week if you have time to take part!

I love this DSP from SU!, and I love even more the fact that I had Copics that came very close to matching.  The Pearls along the bottom are 6mm white pearls from the new AnnaBelle range as well, all of which will be available from Tuesday!

Inside the card has a stamped image from the same set, and just because we spell 'Mum' one way doesn't mean you can't use a flower to change it!

Thank you Michelle for not one but two awards in one go!

Now on to todays card.  I am a little behind in the sketches this week, but I loved the look of Paper Craft Planets sketch from two weeks ago, so I thought I would still do it!

This image is from one of the new sets being released on the 15th and is called Diva.  Illustrated by a very dear person - Bella - I hope you fall in love with her style as much as I did! 

Stamped using Palette Burnt Umber and coloured with Copics,  I added some Flower Soft to the bottom of the image - I've been wanting to do this for ages lol -  and just added a soft blue outline with B000.  There is a choice of things our young girl can be holding, but today I chose the balloons!

This gorgeous DP is from SU! as well as the co-ordinating cardstock.

Design Team!

Well I always knew that having to decide on something like this was going to be hard, and it was!  Thank you soooo much to everyone who applied, I was overwhelmed.  The Design Team has been listed to the left, so pop by and say hello.

Here are a couple of little 'snippets' from cards using the new AnnaBelle range.  With the site due to open any day I am very excited!! and can't wait to share them with you. 

I would love to take some time this afternoon to do some stamping - have been packing stamps for the past three days....yeh!...and two children home sick.

Silent Night

My JustRite Christmas stock has arrived, and I couldn't wait to try some of them out.  When I first saw the new images I immediately had two sets picked for my cards this year -.  'A Merry Little Christmas' and 'Christmas Treasures' .  I already had the two Wood Stampers that suited these sets, which made choosing them simple, and the fact that I love images that express the reason for the season. 

I started with Vixen Cream cardstock, simply because I love the texture, and stamped using SU! Cranberry Crisp.  I am nearly out of this cardstock, which was one of my favourites when it first came out.  The centre image has been coloured using Copics, and it is a little hard to see, but it has been cut out using Spellbinders and raised with dimensional foam.  The border image was cut freehand - very easy to do with this one, and it has a lovely lacy look.  The back drop was cut from Spellbinders Labels Two, and matted on to SU! DSP.  I attached 5mm and 3mm AnnaBelle Cream Pearls with Glossy Accents and was finished!  Now how many more do I have to do?   

The sketch layout is from the weekend Taylored Expressions challenge.

Added! : In Australia we celebrate Fathers Day the first Sunday in September.  A great time of the year as we head in to Spring time.
