Lucky for me the list of retired stamp sets was released a little earlier than intended, as it has given me time to put together the workshop for March before we go on holidays! -And with the workshop done I have plenty of time to clean before the housesitters arrive...well maybe.
Naturally most of the stamp sets are from the retiring list, just so we can have one last play.
I just took some time out from preparing for a workshop to do a quick Easter card using the Bunny Hugs set from the current Stampin' Up! mini catalogue.
Stamp Sets : Bunny Hugs, Itty Bitty Backgrounds.
Cardstock : Apricot Appeal, Whisper White, Perfect Plum.
Ink : Basic Black, Apricot Appeal, Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery.
Accessories : Stampin' Up!® markers, white gel pen, dimensionals
The colour in the second photo didn't come out as well as the first, and I didn't think I had done anything differently!

Well I have finally finished the second baby card I need to send. Any longer and I would be looking at a first birthday card instead! It has simply been one of those weeks.

When I purchased the set Bundle of Joy, I didn't think I would be using it for so many new babies!
I have become a 'great' aunty twice more in the past fortnight, (that does make me sound old!). So I am now working on another boy card, but have just finished the little girl one and thought I would share.
And of course no card - or not many - is complete without my favourite background - Paisley. (Whatever will I do if they discontinue it!)

I have been playing with Faux linen again. This is something I love to do because you can make so many different backgrounds using this technique just by changing the colour, the stamps, and throwing in another technique for good measure.
In the first background I have sanded the glossy and used Versamark to stamp the flower and brayered with Pretty in Pink. Then wiped the Versamark off and lightly sanded again.
The green is sanded and brayered with Certainly Celery, lightly sanded again and then overstamped with Close to Cocoa.
Stamp Set : Merci`.
Cardstock : Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Glossy White, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour card.
Ink : Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Versamark, Staz-on black.
Accessories : dimensionals, Watercolour Wonder Crayons, circle punches, paper piercing tool, organdy ribbon.
I thought seeing I was making some simple ones I would show you this baby card I made the same day as the birthday one.
Nice and simple.
The little giraffe is from the 'Little Hellos' set, and he/she fits in nicely. The hearts are from the 'Love It' hostess set.
I should have simply posted it with the first one, silly me.

I pulled out the very special set 'Time Well Spent' to make this bright birthday card.
Sometimes it's nice to go simple, especially when time is not on your side!
The little butterfly is stamped twice and coloured, cutting one of them out, along with three of the little flowers to decorate the bottom.
The birthday greeting is from the 'Birthday Whimsy' set available through the Sale-a-bration promotion.

A very quick and easy card using Designer Series paper from the Spring mini.
I love pastel colours for Easter, they just seem to go together!

I couldn't resist sharing this card, because baby ones are just so special. It's for a friend who is a Dad for the first time.
I haven't used this DS paper much - in fact I had forgotten that I even had it - but now that I have found it again, I will be using it more often. I love the colours together!
I had meant to wrap the ribbon around as I normally would but had pieced it all together without even thinking until it was too late. So this is how it was meant to be...well thats my story, and I think I actually prefer it.
I am having a lot of fun using my new Spellbinders dies as well. (They're not SU!, but I love them any way). I found a great site to purchase these from, check it out here.

Well I haven't disappeared, but close. Working on new computer programs and setting things up can just about consume you. I am currently working through over 380 pages so I don't make a mistake as I am far from a computer person.
So today I thought no, I am going to do what I like best and make cards! -And then came this one, and I just don't know if I like it, so I am throwing it to you, so you can be completely honest.
I started with wanting to use the technique Polished Stone, and worked from there.
