Driving by...

A very simple card I did a few weeks ago.  Using the Stampin' Pastels to colour the car and give an easy watercolour look.

Stamp Sets : Loads of Love.

Cardstock : Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Whisper White.

Ink : Basic Black, Brilliant Blue.

Accessories : dimensionals, paper crimper, circle punches, paper piercing tool and mat pack, Stampin' Pastels, blender pen, brad.

Crayon resist

It is always hard for me to think of male cards, so it is handy to have a couple done and put aside.  I have used a technique called 'Crayon Resist' on the leaves.

I am looking to start a monthly technique class.  In this we would learn two new techniques, making reference cards to keep in a folder as well as cards to give away.  If you think you may be interested  in joining me please email me and we will work out a regular day and time.

The colour IRL is much more vibrant - I think the flash didn't like the glossy cardstock.

City of David

I love this new set of mine called 'City of David'.  I have only made the one card so far, but will be looking to add to this over the next week - with some luck!

I have used non traditional colours, but I am thinking that I don't mind them.  Let me know what you think.

Thanks to Erika Martin and her fantastic blog, my mental block for my sons birthday card was broken.  What kind of card do you make for a 15 year old boy?  Well I didn't know until last week!  So this is my version - with no glitter of course!

Sage Shadow Faux Linen...

I finished another card I had started a couple of weeks ago.  I tend to make lots of backgrounds in different colours when I am trying something new, and then use them up.

This card is done in a colour I don't use often, but like - Sage Shadow.

I have tried once again to take a closer picture as well, but it doesn't seem to show the faux linen very clearly.

Faux Linen

I love the look of this technique, and how you can change it.  It is very simple to do and can give a different look every time.  I like the fact that it can make plain paper into something much more, and just by changing the colour of the ink you use, in to any theme you like.

Stamp Sets : French Script BG, Taggers Dozen, Both Ways Blossoms.

Cardstock : Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Basic Black, Glossy White, Close to Cocoa.

Ink : Close To Cocoa, Not Quite Navy, Blush Blossom.

Accessories : Brayer, Sanding Block, Square and circle punches, brad, blender pens, Grosgrain ribbon, sponge daubers.

I have tried to take more of a close up shot to give you an idea on how this technique changes the look of the cardstock, and gives it some texture.  Just click on the image to see it a little better.  I hope you like it.

Happy World Card Making Day

Today is World Card Making Day, where people all round the world celebrate card makers and their creativity.  Hand made cards are something very beautiful as they are made with love to give to someone special, for many different occasions -  Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, With Sympathy, Happy Anniversary or even just to say hello - all made with someone in mind.

So lets celebrate and make a card today!

Cameo it is..

Deciding on colour combinations would have to be the hardest thing to do I think.  Choosing the stamp set or lay out, the brads or ribbon you might like to use is far easier than colours!  Well for me it is, and I can easily go to my favourites each and every time.  But not today.  Today I have chosen Cameo Coral over Regal Rose - lets see what you think.
